First of all, this jacket is beautiful!! The material is excellent quality velvet, the embroidery detailing is well done, and the purple color is much deeper and richer than the picture shows (which I love). The jacket drapes well and is quite comfortable. It surpassed my expectations and I may order another at some point. However: I'm going to hazard a guess and say this is Asian sizing. I say this because I'm a petite person who wears a Small or Medium in Asian sizing (XSmall or XXSmall in US sizing), and the medium fits pretty much perfectly with only a little extra room in the chest and arm length. Not enough to send it back, though. A little alteration and it'll be perfect. But if you want something true to size in US sizing and are on the fence about what to get, I would suggest ordering up a size. Read more

I am a fanatic about velvet....always have been....always will be. It's a super lovely coat,but no pockets which is kind of a drag, but I still dress in a somewhat bohemian/hippie kind of way. I dress for me and no one else. The color was awesome as it was a muted teal that looked like it was already broken in. However,I have rounded shoulders,so I bought some shoulder pads for it and it is exactly what it needed. It's yet again a dress up or down coat....just depends on what you put with it, but really nice looking velvet jackets that are stylish are hard to come buy, so when I saw this one, I snagged it quick. A bit pricey, but again, the cool stuff is hard to find, so I'm very pleased to have bought it and the shoulder pads make it look even nicer. I have purchased two of these kimonos, one in teal and the other raspberry. Both colors were beautiful, but the teal was pretty wrinkled while the red was wearable right out of the package. I am 5'4", 140 lbs, and the medium is a good fit. I can wear a turtleneck or very lightweight sweater underneath. Read more
