A good try with a clever idea, but it just doesn't work well
This caught me eye as a unique idea, and I have fluorescent lights in my kitchen that I find less than aesthetic. The price seemed good for four light coverings, so why not try them out? The sky sheets look nice and vibrant in the packaging. They have a very promising appearance. They also come with a lot of adhesive disks that I thought were magnets. It turns out they are metal disc's and the actual magnets are embedded in the edges of the sky sheets. I tried placing the sheets over my kitchen lights before I took the step of adhering the metal disc's to my ceiling. I'm glad I did as the sky sheets don't look very appealing when put over a light. The creases in the sheets are very apparent, even when stretched tight, but perhaps those could be smoothed out over time. However the vibrant colors look muted and not at all sky-like once over the light. It looks like a half-hearted attempt to decorate a teens bedroom. It's unfortunate as I think the concept is neat one. And generally the materials are decent, and there are plenty of adhesive disks. In the end though, it just doesn't fulfill the original promise of a skylight like appearance. Read more
