I'm blown away by this magsafe phone mount. On the box, it's called a "climbing" mount - I think because it includes a carabiner so you can conveniently carry it around with you, on a belt loop, or attachment point on your every day carry. But it has so much more than that. It's rock solid as a stand. It's pretty steady in its most basic configuration, with the magsafe portion flipped up, but for extra stability it has 2 legs that swing out to form a self-contained tripod. All the legs have rubber non-slip feet. In this form I can use my foldable phone in portrait, landscape, and landscape unfolded. It will support my phone unfolded in portrait mode, but since the screen will be heavy on the left, it could be knocked over like that with a bump. But it has more uses than just a stand. Unfolded, you can use it as a short selfie stick. In this mode, the various hinges will let you find the optimal angle for your shot. The hinges are smooth but nice and tight - the weight of my phone doesn't cause it to deviate from how I position it. And because it also has a 1/4"-20 attachment point and is compatible with the ARCA system, this will work with any tripod. It's been several years since I broke out my DSLR camera, but I still use tripods with my phone - this accessory is far more convenient and easy to use than those spring loaded claw mounts. I attached it to a quick release base plate, but for ultimate convenience I am considering getting an ARCA ball jointed head - that would be even more easy to get set up. It even has a cold shoe mount available, although it's positioning is such that most led lights would point sideways attached to it. It would work with a light that swings out, but I think the cold shoe is probably meant to hold a microphone. But since this is a metal construction, you could use the back side of the magsafe head as a connection point for a magsafe light accessory. Given that I have camera gear, this is my favorite mount, since I can easily use it with my tripods and monopod. If you don't have camera gear like this, there's another similar magsafe mount / selfie stick combo in a similar form factor (https://amzn.to/4693Gqc - also highly recommended). It doesn't have the tripod attachment points, but has a similar hinge and fold out legs design. I find it a little more comfortable to use in selfie stick mode. I’ve had this magnetic tripod stand for about six weeks, but it already feels like part of my everyday carry. I actually had trouble finding it in my order history because I’ve been using it so often — it’s just always with me. What stands out most is how lightweight it is. This is a VERY simple phone stand/tripod. The MagSafe magnets hold very tightly to my iPhone. I feel pretty confident my phone wouldn’t accidentally come off. It has less pivot points than other similar tripods, and I’m surprised they didn’t include magnets to let you stick this to things. I really like the built-in carabiner-like clip to carry it on your backpack or belt loop. This makes it convenient to bring along anywhere. It’s even okay in a jeans pocket, because the corners rounded. Also, it’s easy to open and close yet the parts stay where you put them. I guess the cold shoe might come in handy for a light. However, it’s not a normal shoe with spring levers and a stop to hold the attachment in place. It’s basically just a channel. I am glad they included a 1/4” tripod screw hole so it can be attached to a larger tripod. The slide in tripod plate doesn’t work with any of my tripods. Most have a locking lever that’s in the way of this. Kind of a pointless feature. This is very lightweight, but seems sturdy. It could be used as a short selfie stick in a pinch. It could come in handy in a variety of situations. But I have to knock off one star because there are absolutely no included instructions. The only instructions are in the Amazon promo. Read more

I was interested in checking out this magnetic phone mount and intended to use it to enhance taking photos and videos on my iPhone. What caught my eye was that it has a 1/4” screw hole, cold shoe mount and is Arca-Swiss compatible - meaning that it can attach to standard tripod heads easily and without any other hardware. So far, it delivers on what it promised. The magsafe magnet seems very strong and holds my phone quite well, even with a magsafe compatible case on it. The stand itself is made out of durable aluminum, it’s well machined, all the parts are smooth and fit very well together. I tested the Arca-Swiss compatible section, and that fit in my tripod perfectly, it’s a very clever design on the manufacturers part. It has a standard cold shoe which can easily hold a microphone or small light. It has a clip, which can attach the mount to a bag or vest if needed. It even has a couple small legs that fold out in case you want to use the mount on its own. This is definitely a product that I’ll toss in my camera bag. It makes iPhone photography or video that much easier and it doesn’t take up much room or add much weight. Read more
