Overall I'm very happy with this rack. It's easy to deploy and easy to fold back up again. When collapsed it is very compact and easy to stow, with a small footprint. There are plenty of arms for when I need them but I can also just deploy the number that I need. They deploy individually so I just pull out the number I need, and give larger items more room. The arms seemed a little too thin to me at first but are made of quality wood and have been strong enough so far (they also include a spare just in case...nice). Ditto the legs. The legs though are the reason for my four star rating. The three leg design means that it can sit stable on an uneven surface, but only as stable as it's narrow three leg stance. In other words, it's tippy, but just enough to make me nervous. So far, because of the time of year, I've only been using it in a sheltered location and it has been fine (the only tip over was from my cat attacking it) but I don't believe that I'll be able to use it outside if there is even a gentle breeze without a tumble. This collapsible drying rack is a fantastic design. It is compact when folded so can be stored away easily when not in use. When needed, it is a snap to pull out and expand the tripod legs then the arms. There are 16 arms. You pull out the ones you want to use. If you need to space items on hangers, then you would use less arms to give space for the hanger. Eight of the arms have notches for the hangers so the hangers will not move. The stand is a spindle so that as you hang items on an arm, you can rotate the arm to move to the next empty arm. You do NOT have to walk around the drying rack to reach the next empty arm. It is a great design. To pull out an arm, you just lift the arm out of its slot. Then to stow the arm away, you slide it back in. Very easy to do. I really like the flexibility of this design! For the tripod legs, you step on the lever and pull up on the knob at the top. The tripod looks narrow at first but you give one last tug and suddenly you get the full width of the tripod. It will use about 24 inches diameter at full expansion of the legs. To collapse the tripod legs requires some practice. You have to use one hand to push in on the legs while using the other hand to hold the top. While holding the legs in, you push down on the top knob. You may suddenly push the rack body into your hand the first few times. After that, you can judge the pressure you need to quickly move your hand away! It is the one drawback to the design. I don't know how much weight the tripod can stand. My guess is you don't want to fully load up the drying rack. This rack is useful for other purposes. For example, hang up your clothes as you remove them from the dryer. Hang up your clothes as you are ironing them. Put something bulky over it that needs to air dry like a comforter. Use it at campsite for wet clothes. The product dimensions are rather misleading but accurate in the images. The height is about 48 inches. The arms are 19 inches. Expanding an arm on each opposite side would need about 43.5 inches. The tripod stand needs about 24 inches diameter. Overall, the product description, photos, and images show a true depiction of this product. You get what you expect to get. It comes fully assembled and includes one extra arm. The notches are not as deep as the graphics make them look in "more product details" section. The drying rack is lightweight and easy to move and stow. It is ideal for anyone limited on space. Call me old school, but I still wear a lot of clothes that I don't want to risk sticking in a traditional dryer. Normally I would hang clothes literally on any surface with space to put it. I saw this rack, and thought I would give it a try. For the record, I've tried the wall mounted and according drying racks, and never had much success with either. They're both cumbersome and finnicky in my experience. I entered this new trial with pretty low expectations, thinking it would just be another gadget that would eventually wind up in the corner of the laundry room gathering dust. First of all, this is a compact set that is easy to store right next to my washer and dryer. When expanded, it's footprint is about 2' at the base and gives you approximately 20 arms to hang garments from. The hangers are strong and sturdy. Since they're wood, I was concerned about wear from hanging wet items on it, but it worked out great. The best part, was when I only have five items to dry, I only pull out five arms. Or when I have oversized items, I can customize the arms I use so the item can fit and still receive airflow. It dries all the shirts or pants I need in one go, and it takes me about 30 seconds to put it away. I love the function, and honestly, if you forget to put it away, it's not a bad looking item in the corner of a living space.
