I was so happy when I opened this. It looks exactly like it does online and does not look like “too much” as I feared it might in real life. It is a sizable umbrella considering it is collapsible, and the image is spectacular. Read more

The Monet exhibit came to my city a long time ago... and was one of the things Mom and I did together.. She bought the Secret Gardens umbrella there years ago and of all of her collection of Brollies was her favorite. It broke about 3 years ago and I had been looking ever since for an acceptable replacement.. This is a very nice bumbershoot, and I really like the fiberglass design.. far less risk of her cutting her paper thin skin on metal, and it feels a lot more flexible and sturdy. This model is also a very pleasing print, and is larger than her previous one.. It is almost enough for 2 people. I also like the fact it is both auto open and with a second press will close the canopy with a snap.. then all you have to do is push it back together to collapse it. Thank you so much.. I just wanted to give her something nice she would enjoy and actually needed. Con... I was minor disappointed that this particular purchase comes without a matching sleeve, but she said it is OK and probably would never use it anyway.. so it is alright.. Namaste... Au. Read more

UPDATE June 2014: I guess the third time is the charm! I had bought two of these umbrellas in 2013 (see my original review below), and both of them had small holes in the fabric in the same place. However, after losing my Totes umbrella recently and the fact that Amazon has free returns, I decided to order another one of these Galleria umbrellas -- like I said below, I love "Starry Night," and I also love that this has a generous 48" arc while still folding up to be compact. I am happy to say that the umbrella I ordered this time came in perfect condition and lived up to the expectations I'd had when I originally ordered it in 2013... I guess the two I ordered then were just part of a bad batch that had been boxed up for too long. That said, my two-star rating has now gone up to four -- I am leaving one off because I did have those original quality control issues, and that may still be an issue for some of this brand's stock. But the intact umbrella I now own is wonderful. ORIGINAL REVIEW March 2013 (titled "I wanted to love it, but two attempts left me disappointed"): "Starry Night" is one of my favorite pieces of art, so I was thrilled when I found this Galleria umbrella. It had such excellent reviews on Amazon that I ordered one straight away. When I first took it out of the box, it looked wonderful: the colors are incredibly vibrant, and the umbrella itself has a really sturdy-feeling frame. It was also compact when it was folded up, but when I opened it the arc was huge -- big enough for two people, which is rare in a compact model umbrella. I was overjoyed... ... Until I held it up in front of a light. Across the top of the umbrella right where it folds up, there were four or five little slits -- tiny, maybe 1/8 inch each or less -- across the fabric. I never would have noticed them if I hadn't happened to hold it up to the light, but they definitely would have let rain through. I was disappointed but just returned it for an exchange, thinking I must have just gotten a bad one. But alas, the second umbrella also had slits in the exact same location. It could just be that I got two that had been sitting in storage for too long and had worn down where the fabric rubbed against the boxes (like I said, the holes were right against the fold, so I'm sure it gets worn down there faster than anywhere else), but I wasn't going to take my chances with a third. Again, I doubt that this is the case with every Galleria umbrella, and otherwise this was truly a lovely item. But I'd advise you to check yours very carefully so you don't wind up disappointed and possibly damp. :( Read more

Beautiful Hummingbird umbrella. I haven’t had the opportunity to use in high winds and rain yet, but appears to be capable of withstanding them. Opens and closes easily. I had a similar umbrella, with bluebird for 20 years but lost it. I’m not positive this is the same brand but it is very similar if it’s not. I have my fingers crossed I don’t forget this one in a shopping cart, which is what I believe happened my last one. Very pleased with this umbrella. Read more

Hopefully this will last some time, because it's really lovely and a decent size. The mechanism that opens and closes it is a bit stiff, so I hope that loosens up over time. Would still recommend! Read more

First one lasted two years and expected that an arm would break. Second one would not close as described in other reviews. Sent back for replacement. Hope it works. Rather fragile (cheap) manufacturing with pretty materials. Read more
