Our kid is a beast of a toddler (65 lbs and *tall*) and tough on furniture. We specifically were looking for a coffee table that was affordable, looked decent, and would stand up to a lot of wear and tear, as he broke our last coffee table. This table fits the bill. It took maybe 10 minutes to put together solo. It's extremely sturdy. The laminate on the shelves hasn't puckered or peeled even though it's been spilled on many times (it's not cheap, papery laminate, fwiw.) It's a good size and a good weight. Decided we needed a compact refrigerator, but we didn't want to have to get on the floor to access the bottom shelf.
