This does exactly as it says. It will stretch the instep and area around the ankle of the boot. My husband had 2 brand new pairs of boots that he had problems getting in foot into. This stretcher worked to open up the shaft/instep area to let him get his foot inside. It is a little expensive, but based on the cost and time to find a boot store which would mean drive time, fee for the store to stretch, and the time to drive back, I think the value is good. Is this pricey, yes, but based on the reviews I decided to give this raiser a try. I am so happy that I did. I have a very high arch and love cowboy boots. It was always a struggle and took forever and a lot of pain to break in my boots. I used this raiser and Cadillac spray in my Corral boots. The raiser was easy to fit into my boot, I did not have a problem turning to handle to fit the arch in my boot. Overnight it stretched the arch in my left boot just enough to create a comfortable fit. I have used this raiser in my other boots and I am very pleased. We read many reviews on a couple of boot stretchers, but none of them would help our situation. We both had issues with the instep of the boot being too tight. When we saw this stretcher we knew this was exactly what we needed. This devise is easy to use and if you use it on the boot for 24 hrs it will do what is intended, it will stretch out the instep of the boot. It didn't stretch it too much, it was just right, and I haven't had a problem with the boot being too tight since. My husband used it on his boots that he's had for almost a year, but was having issues with the instep on one boot. It's very easy to use, we have no fear of breaking it, and it is very solidly made, and very heavy. The product was a bit expensive, but it was well worth the cost since both of our pairs of boots cost were in the $200's and not wearing the boots because of pain was not an option I cared to look at. It does work well, but be advised that as the device opens to stretch the instep, it tips forward out of a vertical position. Eventually it does find a spot where it is wedged enough to stop tipping and begin stretching. Be cautious, tighten to where its snug and then go another turn. Leave overnight. Try fit the next day and repeat as necessary. It does work very well. It has made three pairs of boots that were hard to pull on but otherwise fit, pull on MUCH, MUCH easier. I'm glad I purchased it. I’m not sure how anyone could rate this anything but a 5 star item. It’s built like a tank and will last generations. There’s not 1 potential point of failure I can find. I put a little lubricant on the threading (basic common sense) and it’s smooth as butter. Typically I spray some alcohol and water on the inside vamp, insert boot stretcher and as it starts getting tight I go very slowly and leave it in the boot overnight. One point of caution, this device is stronger than your boot. If you overdo it and crank it too far you will overpower the boot and damage it, so go easy. If you need to stretch further towards the toe box, just slide a folded leather belt against the heel counter to position it more forward before turning. Read more

I order one of these boot stretcher and it was very nice and works great and came in a nice packing box..I decided to order another one and it came in a plastic bag and a Amazon bag over it, the bags had holes in them and sharp parts of the stretcher was hanging out of the bag it didn’t come in the nice box like my previous order..the boot stretcher looked like it was used and returned .. not happy with this company sending a used item. I wouldn’t recommend this company and product because you don’t know how it’s going to be packaged and if it going to new or used item.. Read more

I have rare Gucci boots made of half canvas (basically impossible to stretch) and half leather, and they were painfully tight in the vamp area. Nothing worked not the plastic Amazon stretchers, not steaming, not stretch spray, and not stuffing. I was about to give up and drive an hour to a cobbler, even though I really didn’t want anyone else handling these boots due to their rarity. Then I found this, and was a bit thrown off by the price point but bought anyway since I had nothing left to lose. I steamed the boots, used a bit of stretch spray, inserted the device, and left it for eight hours. Because of the high arch, I removed the instep piece (the bulky rectangular piece, and adjusted the angle a bit. The next day, I tried on the boots and was shocked the pressure on the top of my foot was nearly gone after just eight hours! This stretcher is absolutely worth it. Don’t hesitate, just get it.
