Now, I can't say for certain this works with a Samsung phone as I don't own one and did not get it for the Samsung but rather for the wattage on other USB-C charging devices. That said, it works with my smart phones nicely, as well as my tablet, as the wattage advertised, but it is not universally compatible. The main device I have been getting chargers for in hopes of finding one that works well is a smart wireless charger I use with my Pixel phone, as the high wattage line on my computer is now tied up with a USB hub and the only other USB-C port on the computer is charging only and at only 20 watts. This is enough for the Smart Charger to work but not enough for it charge my phone at full speed and takes hours to fully charge it from less than 20% as well as sometimes throws warnings on the computer that it is trying to draw too much power. Well, I have not yet found a USB wall charger that works with the smart charger as most won't finish the handshake and actually provide power, while this one almost works but still doesn't. What it does is completes the handshake at the lower wattage level but then when I put my phone on it and it tries to raise the wattage it wants, this charger fails to do so and instead re-initialized the handshake like every other wall charger I have tried that has more than 20 watts available. This means that like so many chargers before it, it may work on phones and tablets but it is not universally USB-C compatible and fails when some devices try to change the power they are asking for. Note that it works just fine at varying it's wattage with a smart phone, as my Pixel phone when plugged straight into it often varies it's charge rate in it's automatic battery conditioning. Though it does not work as I'd hoped, it has become my bedside charger for my Pixel phone as it is capable of charging it faster than the charger I previously had there, so it is getting used, just not as originally intended.
