The BEST non diary Sour Cream on the market because it has that little bit of sour tang that the best dairy sour creams have too. Read more

This stuff is weird but good

MaressaNovember 11, 2020

When I took a chance and purchased this, there was another review that said this product was somewhat gross on its own but when it's added to other food, it's great. This is 100% true- on it's own, the texture is super weird. It's kind of slimy and not at all appetizing. But I've added it to other food like soup, vegan Mac n Cheese, casseroles, grits, etc. I'm not a vegan, but I am dairy free and this is a decent product to help me give up sour cream. On it's own it does not taste like sour cream, but once you add it to stuff, the impression is strong enough. Read more

It's okay, but not my favorite

Blue Moon in CADecember 29, 2020

There's another brand I like much better, but this was the only brand I could get at Whole Foods. It's okay in a pinch, and would probably be okay in a recipe, but to use as a chip dip or something where you really taste just the sour cream, it doesn't quite cut it. It's a little bit runny and more tangy than it should be. Read more

A must for dairy free

We keep this product in the fridge and is such a wonderful nondairy alternative. We use it for topping certain dishes, like tacos. I also have used it in several dips. Read more

Too much cocount milk

AquariaFebruary 23, 2021

I'm not a vegan, but I do have a severe dairy allergy, which means I must rely on vegan sources for dairy substitutes. I also have an almond allergy, which means finding a sour cream not made with almond milk. That really limits my options. When I saw this as one of the few options for vegan sour cream at Whole Foods, I gave it a try, but the coconut is quite prominent in it. Now if I were making cakes with it, or sour cream with some fruit, that might be a good thing. But for standard savory items like dips or as a topping for Mexican food, that's a real problem. It tastes almost like bleach on such dishes. Most unpleasant. As it is, if I wanted to use a thick creamy, topping for cakes or fruit, I could use one of the coconut yogurts out there, which are always in my fridge for breakfast (try making pancakes with coconut yogurt instead of milk--DIVINE!), and cut back on the sweetener necessary while I was at it. For these reasons, Forager Sour Cream is a pass for me. It's NOT that it's bad-tasting on its own, or with sweets. It's just wrong-tasting for what I use sour cream for. Read more

It tastes like dairy without the dairy. A staple in my fridge, and a great value. Hugh quality. Read more

Thankful for allergies

DebMarch 15, 2023

Thankful it doesn’t include pea protein, or any other legume. It also tastes great and mixes well as a base to make all kinds of sauces or dips. I usually mix in avocado, garlic, salt, onion power, for a good taco spread. I’ve used it in casseroles as cream, it’s a mild flavor that goes with anything. Read more

Tastes Likes Coconuts!

K StainNovember 26, 2022

I love the Forager Project unsweetened plant yoghurt, so decided to try the sour cream. Big mistake. Strong coconut flavor. Yes, coconut is listed in the ingredients, however, coconut should not be the prevailing flavor in a typically savory-use item. Made french onion dip with it, went straight into the trash, coconut-flavored french onion dip just doesn't cut it. Replaced with Kite Hill sour cream, tasted as it should. Read more
