FOXBC 10-Inch Saw Blade 80-Tooth TCG for Aluminum and Non-Ferrous Metal Plastic Cutting with 5 8-Inch Arbor

I've always cut aluminum with standard carbide blades for woodworking. But I've also always assumed that it wasn't doing any favors to the blade to do so. Given the very high price of premium woodworking blades I decided that I'd spare them for an aluminum deck railing project I've been working on. This blade is super-sharp and presumably the TCG grind is the right thing for aluminum. There seems to maybe be three different kinds of blades for thin, medium or thick aluminum. Just exactly what the difference is between those three types of blades I'm not sure and I'm also not even completely sure what this one is designed for - the specs seem to say either thin or medium. I've cut stuff that varies between "thin" (maybe 1/16") and medium (1/4" thick) - all the cuts have been perfectly clean and smooth and it cuts through aluminum just like it's butter. Put this blade on my radial arm saw so I could cut up some aluminum for a project. The blade came well packaged and had some split plastic tubing protecting the teeth, nice touch. The overall quality is very good. I used it to cut various thickness and shapes of aluminum from flat, angle and square tubing. It went every piece like butter. I highly recommend this blade. For Common cutting tasks that aren't super important for high level finish work, this is a good value that seems like it will be durable. In my experience, to ensure durablility, cleaning the blade after use is key. But so far, I see no really wear on the cutting edges of this blade and I have used it a lot. It fits perfectly in my 10" table saw with a 5/8 arbor. Cuts are smooth and have no tear out. I am using this always with a fence and sled. My primary use is cutting finish cuts on furniture grade plywood. Read more

I bought a sliding shower door and needed to cut the thick aluminum parts to make it fit my bathtub. I was uncertain as to whether this would be up to the task and read many reviews finally deciding on this one. I can now report that it cut right through the parts I had to trim with ease. Some of them were just over 1/4" in places and it was no problem. Just remember to rear good eye protection as the fine aluminum shavings can be sharp and you don't want them anywhere near your eyes or your hair where they can fall into your eyes. The old adage, "you get what you pay for" works here, I saw blades that cost less and am very glad I spent the extra money for a better blade. Hope this helps! Read more
