The executive overview: DO like: They're really cheap and they work great after they're set up. DON'T like: The setup process is convoluted. Also you have to give an email address during setup. The documentation that is included with the device is outdated and shows an old version of the Google Home app. The app has had significant changes since the documentation was made so the UI path is different. If you have a mixed mode wifi access point (2.4GHz and 5GHz at the same time with the same SSID) or your AP is only 5GHz, you'll need to purchase and set up a seperate wifi access point for these plugs. Also I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about when they mention charging their phones via these plugs because they do not have USB ports. I suspect that the merchant ninja swapped the product and description on this product listing to a newer model without the charging port. Read more

Purchased 2 of these intending to use at my remote lake cabin - 1 on my router (for power reset if/when needed) and 1 for a well pump to control on / off remotely. 1 of the outlets worked for the first use only, then, even though the WIFI on/off function worked, the outlet wouldn't actually turn on. The 2nd outlet worked for multiple "cycles" however, upon setting these outlets up, I learned that these outlets work ONLY on local WiFi e.g. the outlet(s) and your phone app need to be connected to the same WiFi network LOCALLY. These outlets are NOT intended to be managed remotely over the internet. I'll be returning these outlets. The fact that the outlets can't be managed when used remotely wasn't clear in the product descriptions / details. Read more

Bought two of these for my bedside lamps. Super easy to set up and have been working great. I love that I can connect them to my google home, so I can turn them both off when leaving the room without having to pick up my phone or manually turn them both off. My favorite part though is that you can set up a schedule for them to turn on and off, and since I live in a basement with no natural light it’s perfect for the mornings. Highly recommend!! So far, I can't say enough positive things about these plugs! The app is professional looking and responsive, although a bit convoluted. But It's easy enough to figure out. The star of the show are the plugs which connected easily with minimal steps. I've only deployed one so far and after it connected I've been a able to switch it on and off with an obvious button on the app and almost no latency, not that that would be a big deal anyway. After nearly an hour of trying to pair the plug, and carefully following the directions and all the suggestions in the More Device-Pairing FAQ, I clicked on the Report an Issue link. Clicked on Fails to connect then Wi-Fi device to discover that the device cannot connect to a Wi-Fi 6 network. Would have been nice to have this limitation listed in the product description. Love these. Super easy to set up, especially if you already have the Smart Life app on your phone. Ours works great with Smart Life and Google Assistant/Google Home. I really appreciate that these are designed not to block adjacent outlets too. Read more
