The latch that allows the lid to remain closed is fastened securely. All materials have an acceptable texture. Top (cover) is made of clear (transparent) material – nice to see contents without opening. Again, overall, good choice for home or personal use. Not sure it would withstand a lot of commercial/constant use because that is not my purpose. Notice the measurements on this one. I ordered another tray (some time before this one) that is bigger. I thought this one would be the same (very similar, if not the same photos were used to advertise) but this one is significantly smaller.
