I’m 50 years old, born and raised in the Northeast, and I don’t have patience for gear that folds the second the weather turns ugly. This jacket holds its own. Wore it during a windy, wet morning out on Long Island and it kept me dry and warm without feeling like I was wrapped in a sleeping bag. The fleece lining is comfortable, not scratchy, and it traps heat well. Blocks wind better than I expected, especially around the neck and cuffs. Zippers feel sturdy, which matters when you’ve snapped enough cheap ones in your lifetime. Fit is true to size with enough room for a sweatshirt underneath. I’m not trying to look like I’m headed to Everest, just walking the dog and shoveling snow. It does the job without being bulky. For the price, it’s a good value. Not designer, not flashy. I purchased this jacket as a gift for my brother in law. He loves it! He remarked thar it needed a users manual, there were so many neat features and pockets. This jacket is exactly as described: weatherproof, warm and comfortably loose, ideal for snowboarding. I paired it with Free Soldier pants in army green and they look like a matching set in both style and quality. I ordered a medium and the slight looseness is perfect for layering. In shopping for a new ski jacket, I ran across this jacket that had thousands of positive reviews. I was skeptical given its unbelievably low price but decided to give it a shot. The jacket arrived promptly within 2 days. I have long arms (34-35” shirt length) and this jacket in size Large fit well. I tried it out on a blustery 20 degree day with strong winds walking outside for several hours at a winter fest. The jacket was remarkably warm with just a long sleeve t-shirt underneath just as other reviews had indicated. There are a good number of pockets. Some reviews mentioned the pockets not being large enough for large cell phones but I had no issues. I’ve not yet tried it out on the ski hills but anticipate a positive experience. Unlike many other jackets, I love that the hood can be zipped on and off. I give this jacket 4 stars only because it would be nice to have zippers in arm pits as the jacket is made so well and can keep you very warm even when inactive. It would also be ideal if outer pockets were much larger and both ski gloves could fit into one pocket. Great jacket. I ordered this coat on Amazon as I wasn't happy with the quality of comparable coats in the local stores. First, the fit is true to the size. This has always been a problem when ordering online as some sizes run smaller, however, the size is spot on. The color is a perfect deep dark blue - goes with anything. The fabric used for the coat is heavy duty and will probably outlast me! The lining is great as well as there is enough softness to keep the warm in but enough breathability so that you don't sweat. The other features I like about this coat is the detachable hood and the elastic waist enclosure. The elastic waist band is great if you are going out skiing or hiking in the snow as it will keep the cold and snow out. I didn't need it but it's great to have it. If you don't need it, there are snap fasteners on both ends that you can unsnap so that you have more comfort at the waist. Oh, and did I mention so many pockets with secure zippers? Yes, this coat has that too! This coat was a great buy and worth every penny! Excellent price! Read more

Great value vs more expensive jackets. Needed a replacement for shoveling & snow blowing during MN winters. I was very surprised of the quality and warmth even below 0 conditions + the waterproofing is great. I agree with others that the pockets are not deep enough for my phone, wallet, keys etc so I ensure the pockets are zipped to nothing falls out when driving.
