The button dress shirt is soft, a good quality material, and it is a bit see-through, but not enough to cause too much of a problem. I brought it 1 size up (my child is an above-average kid, 8 yrs old, usually wears a Medium 7/8), it had about two finger spaces, enough for them to grow into later, but not baggy.
