I had very low expectations for this to make a difference but it actually did? I feel like just typing that means it will lose it's effectiveness and the litter smell terror will return. So my litter set up is the closet under a stairwell with an exhaust fan pulling stinky air out. I also have a carbon and HEPA filter running inside the room. All the boxes are automated/robots so they clean within 5 minutes of any business but the SMELL was still there!!! Why!! Anyways, opened one of these up and set it next to the boxes and noticed a difference within 24 hours. I also then went on vacay for a week and all the cat sitters said the smell was non-existent (I begged them to "give it to me straight" about the smell). When we got home, still no smell. I don't know what sorcery is occurring but finally happy. For reference, I use a Neakasa M1 robot, Litter Robot 4, and a PetSafe litter box and am currently using FreshStep Light and Free. Was using EverClean but they've changed the formula and it's garbage now so. Read more

These are great for use in the bathroom as well as near the litter box. There is only the slightest hint of scent, which is nice for perfume sensitive people. Read more

These help with odors. Doesn’t completely eliminate them, but does help. These are not real fragrant (which I like), but they do help with odor relief. Read more

Does the job. I keep it by her food and litter. - no scent - keeps odor under control = value for $ - strength is an 8/10 so I’ve had to use charcoal scent absorbers too - no leakage? - longevity: I’ve had it for 2 months now and it’s almost or about half way through Read more

I have no idea why this item has 5 stars. Thank god, I bought it from Amazon, so I can get a refund. Don't waste your time to drop it off at UPS or wholefood though. It doesn't work at all. (I used it in a tiny small bathroom. Doesn't work! Read more

Bought this to replace a previous deodorizer we had in the closet where we keep the litter box. I’m pretty sure this is actually the exact same product as the regular Fresh Wave, just in a different container marketed specifically for “litter.” I don’t think there’s anything different about this other than the label and the price, so if you can find a better deal on the original Fresh Wave, definitely go for that instead. It does have a quite strong scent, sort of a citrusy eucalyptus “fresh” essential oil smell. I find it more tolerable than perfumey artificial fragrance, but I would always prefer unscented. Also interesting that this would be marketed for litter since it contains lime oil, which like all citrus, is toxic to cats if ingested. Some cats also specifically don’t like the smell of pine either, which this contains - so more reasons to think this is just regular Fresh Wave with a different label slapped on it. We keep our litter box in a utility closet and scoop multiple times per day for one cat, plus we mix a little zeolite in with her corn/cassava litter to neutralize ammonia smells - so luckily our box isn’t very smelly to begin with. But there’s always a slight lingering general “litter smell” in the closet from the litter itself. Adding this next to the box did nothing for her room-clearing poops, but it maybe cut down on the general smell of the box a bit. It was hard to tell if/how it was working, because it just felt like I was smelling all the essential oils instead of the litter. I felt like it was relying on the plant oils to cover up or “neutralize” the odor moreso than actually absorbing anything from the air. I’d give it a shake every few days to “refresh” the gel a little but after 2.5 weeks I felt like the whole room outside the closet just started to smell like litter box mixed with essential oils which was pretty nauseating. So I threw this out and replaced it with an unscented odor absorber from another brand that I’d used in the past which is much better on the nose, and there’s no smell detected in the room at all now. Overall I felt like this moreso just covered up the smell with its own essential oil smell, rather than actually absorbing the odor. And I found the scent of it pretty overwhelming. I wouldn’t get this again for this purpose. Read more
