I owned it for two months so cant attest to durability. I bought two and when working together they take care of my 1200 square 2 brm, large living rm and separate dining rm and separate kitchen - apartment. I like that i can indicate desired temperature and the units turn on only when the temperature goes above it, which saves me on electricity. The only problem i have is that the yellow light indicator stays on even after i throughly clean both filter (yes each unit has two filters) and I cant find where in the manual it describes how to reset these. The font size in the manual are so small that it is very hard to read instructions in it. I am so glad i invested in the two of them. I do wish that the remote was easier to figure out. I think that some buttons have more than one function but again, if instructions are in the manual, due to the small font size i cant read them. The nose is the same or better than window units. I like that i can quickly install them myself and remove them, no more paying a handy man to secure window unit or remove it annually. Costers work well so you can easily move the units if you need to. Read more

I purchased this portable air conditioner after carefully measuring the room I was going to use it in and making sure it was the right size unit for my room. It arrived on July 2nd, 2023, and after enlisting the help of my Mom to lift this 81 lbs. machine up my garage stairs into the room it was going to used in, I read the instructions before using it for the first time. I installed it exactly as described in the instructions, making sure that there was lots of room behind the machine so it could breath and that the vent tube was straight and smooth. This first summer of use, the machine worked well (I only set the temperature at 77F so it would not have to overwork), I made sure to clean the filters on a regular basis and there seemed to be no issues. By the first week of September I no longer needed air conditioning, so I disconnected the machine and made sure to drain the condensate tanks - the machine was left in a climate controlled room all winter (not a garage or attic). By May of 2024 I again needed my air conditioner, so I reinstalled it as before and from May to July it was working well, until August 4th when it completely stopped blowing cold air and it started displaying a "P1" code on its screen; I drained both condensate tanks, which were full, but when I restarted the machine it still did not start blowing cold air. I called Frigidaire for help, and a man who new nothing about my machine said that my warranty had expired (the machine was only used for 5 months out of the year I owned it, but it did stop working almost exactly 1 month after the warranty expired), but he could send someone to my home to repair it for $273. I feel like I have been ripped off, how can any home appliance last through just 5 months of use and why would I throw more money into a defective machine. Now I am trying to figure out what in the world to do with this 81 lbs. monster of a machine and whether the landfill will even take it. After this experience I will never buy anything Frigidaire again. Instead of calling them "portable" air conditioners they should call the "disposable" air conditioners, since you will have to throw them away after one year. Read more

Air conditioning works great. It is a bit of a chore to install and the hosing comes loose sometimes, but it really does the job. It is not the smallest or quietest air conditioner but is great for cooling a large space. It did not take a ton of electricity to run and was much cheaper than running our central air. The remote does not have great reception, so we just use the buttons on the unit to control it. We tried it for heat once, but it doesn't seem meant to really heat a larger area. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I bought the 14,000 BCU model hoping it would cool my entire 640-square-foot, one-bedroom condo -- although I also recognized that portable air conditioners are best suited for a single space. It does a great job of cooling the small bedroom but doesn't reach the main kitchen/dining/living area. No big surprise there, but a bummer. It runs constantly and is quite noisy, but I've managed to fall asleep OK. I keep it set around 69 degrees, which is cooler than I'd like but that seems to cause the least amount of loud off/on cycling. I do love the wifi feature. I'm able to turn the AC on and off when away from home. The app was a little wonky to set up but once you get it, it works. I also have it set up to Alexa, but haven't tried operating it by voice because the remote works just fine. The part that goes in your actual window is a bit inferior because to adjust the height/length, you have to insert two screws into the plastic. In other words, it's a permanent adjustment so you can't really see how it fits before you decide if you want to keep it. And there are air gaps. I've seen better window seals but don't let this small detail prevent you from buying it. I chose Frigidaire based on the brand's high ratings in Consumer Reports. The top-rated model in Consumer Reports wasn't available and though this particular model isn't rated, I figured it was worth a shot. Plus, I was able to get it before a heat wave hit. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase but I might have been just fine with a less-powerful unit. I stay cool at night and my cat is comfortable and that's the most important thing. Read more
