I purchased this filter several months ago and initial installation was fairly easy. I did it myself. I liked that it was under the faucet and therefore didn’t need to be stored in the fridge. Water quality tasted better, so figured it worked well. I just installed the replacement filter, which was also fairly easy (though it didn’t come with instructions). I also purchased a water tester to compare the tap water vs. filtered water. I tested the old filter level, which came out to 160 ppm. The bathroom water was at 149 ppm, so it was almost worse to have the dirty filter in! After replacing the filter, I let it run for 5-10 minutes and level went as low as 110ppm, which I figured it would continue to go down with use. After several uses (maybe 15-20 times), I took another reading... 149ppm! I am disappointed. Ideal drinking water is below 50ppm, however the level that it is at now is well within the safe range to drink. Because it does taste better, it is probably doing what it claims by removing the chlorine, and any possible metals. After looking at the item description, it does claim to leave behind the trace minerals, that are good for you which explains the relatively high ppm. Read more
I have the step one system and find that these ones replace very quickly and easily. Don't throw away the tool that works like a wrench as it is really hard to grasp otherwise. I never had a problem with this product and a minute you turn the water back on the air makes a sound and it takes a little bit to blow out all the air then you get a nice flow of water without chlorine. I bought this product before and I will buy it again. Read more
