We got this mostly to make out own baking powder (1 part baking soda and 2 parts cream of tartar - we use Frontier Baking Soda . Worked great every single time, and we are pretty pleased that this is non-irradiated. Great value too. Read more

My wife loves cream of tartar and she was so happy to find Frontier carries it in bulk! We really do not like using baking powder because it contains mostly corn starch and we don't eat corn products in our house. My wife uses baking soda and cream of tartar instead! She made the most delicious einkorn flour biscuits using it and it's just fantastic. Super fluffy and moist. I really see no reason for her to use baking powder considering the amazing results. I imagine we will go through this bag quickly with all the holiday baking my wife is really excited to get into. Such a great brand and product! Read more

This cream of tartar does everything it is supposed to and arrived very fresh. We use it in baking and also for DIY kids crafts, and it is very effective. Frontier is one of my favorite brands. I buy their bulk cinnamon, cocoa, and other herbs and spices. I have always been pleased with the quality I have received from them. The packaging is always very solid, and the product arrives very fresh and in perfect condition. Read more

Order processed and delivered quickly by this vendor, Frontier Natural Products. Packaged in a very tough plastic pouch. Cream of tartar is my go-to for whipping up good egg whites, and for homemade baking powder for quick breads and cookies to raise, because it works fast and doesn't contain aluminum. I also use it to clean burnt steel and enamel pots (well they are not aluminum because I don't use aluminum for cooking, so I don't know if this is appropriate since it is somewhat acidic) especially roasting pans by soaking overnight in hot water and a tablespoon or so. Makes the burnt stuff come loose so much easier. My mum taught me that, and she learned from her grandmother. It's a fine white powder made from the salts that form in wine making. Buying the bulk product this way, is more convenlent for me than the tiny baking powder tins. Because it doesnt' contain "double acting" powder with aluminum, batters made with cream of tartar should be baked as soon as mixed, and not left standing. I pour the powder into an old coffee jar to keep it dry until needed. Read more

I use a lot of Cream of Tartar. I make my own baking powder, which requires only a limited amount, but I use it much more for cleaning certain items. I collect vintage cookware. Often aluminum pots, pans, roasters and etc., have very dark interiors from cooking certain foods. Filling the vessel with water and adding 3 or 4 Tablespoons of Cream of Tartar and boiling the liquid for 20 - 30 minutes (occasionally longer) will bring the aluminum back to the bright, silvery color it was when new. Such a good deal and reasonably priced. Was looking for a means of cleaning my tarnished aluminum Ice cream scoops that had been run through the dishwasher and were marking the ice cream when used. In researching for a solution I read that a good soak in cream of tartar would do the trick. It worked! Read more

This cream of tartar or "potassium bitartrate" by Frontier Natural Products works great in helping stiffen whipped creams and baked goods that call for cream of tartar. I used to use this same branded product in a small glass bottle but was glad to see this in a larger package format, which saves money if you use it often. Frontier sells a variety of kitchen pantry needs and this is one of their excellent products from my experience. Read more
