I bought this a little over 2 years ago, when I had what I now believe was a virus that caused arthritis-like joint pain, that was at least partially relieved by using braces/supports on effected joints. At the time, I was underweight (given that I'm a woman of average height -- 5'5", and barely 100 lbs), so there was no question about which size to buy. It fit, and it helped to stabilize my wrist, providing some relief. I pulled it out again about a week ago, after I sprained my wrist, and am still happy with it. Thanks to a medication I was on for several months, I have gained about 50 lbs in the last two years, and at 150 lbs, I'm now at the upper end of my healthy weight range. The small/medium still fits will, though (unsurprisingly) it's considerably tighter than it used to be. My wrist is now about 6.25", and my knuckles are about 7" at their widest point. The brace is snug enough to leave imprints from the seams on my wrist, but it's still comfortable, and I have not seen (or felt) any signs of restricted circulation to my fingers. I am wearing it as I type. When I first sprained my wrist, the doctor gave me a splint that covered my thumb and ended just below my elbow, which I could wear as much or as little as I wanted, since it was essentially just for my comfort. I'd brought this brace with me to the ER, and showed it to the nurse, who said it was a good alternative. For the first few days, I wore the thumb splint at night, and this brace during the day, since it allows for close to full use of my fingers (I'm wearing it as I type this, and can still touch-type at full speed; for nearly 20 years now, since I was in middle school, I've been able to type quickly enough that the rate limiting factor is knowing what letter I want next -- finding said letter is automatic and nearly instantaneous, and this brace does not interfere with this at all; it also has not interfered with writing, drawing, or coloring). I have not worn this brace overnight, since it feels a bit tight on my hand, and I worry about blood flow to my fingers at night, since it's tight find during the day, even though I know this is probably irrational (but I often wake up with one or the other arm numb just because it landed even slightly higher than my heart for a little while towards the end of the night, or I put my head on it while I slept, so I don't think it would take much to cut off blood flow to my hand while I sleep). I wore the splint the gave me at the ER for the first few nights, with this during the day, and since then, I've continued to wear this during the day, with nothing at night. It helps protect my wrist from the type of strain that is likely to make it feel worse, and it seems to help a lot, and is pretty comfortable. Being an online gamer and an office worker my wrists can tend to hurt once in a while. I decided to do some preventative measures for my overall health via stretching and taking breaks; in the times where I'm working in the office I decided that I could use this brace to help with wrist therapy. I bought the small/medium size and it fits my wrists perfectly (I have very small wrists probably up to 2.5 inches across). These supports are supposed to be a little tight and I was able to find the right balance between compressed (good) and constricting (bad). I'm dinging this product by 1 (one) star only because of the price. I feel like I can find an item like this at the drug store or grocery store for the same price. Quality still seems pretty good but after long-time wear I'm sure the velcro will fail. That being said, this product is still very affordable and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a small amount of comfort for their hands and wrists. Read more

I wear braces on my wrists at night due to CT and have tried many brands and like these the best. I like them because 1. they are not too hot 2. They are black so do not show signs of dirt. There are braces "for women" that are light grey and pink. They are pretty for about 2 days before they look disgusting. 3. They are angled at the finger opening so your pinky doesn't get squished. 4. The opening by the thumb is comfortable and doesn't pinch so some others do. 5. The Velcro straps are easily adjustable as they attach pretty much anywhere on the glove. 6. The metal stabilizer is removable so you can wash them. 7. They last a long time. I replace mine about every 6 months or so. Again, I wear them every night. Also, I have cats and once cat hair gets in the Velcro there's really no turning back. Just for more information, I have very small hands. I can't attest to how well they would work on someone with more average sized hands. Read more
I've self-diagnosed myself with carpal tunnel over the years, as I've always used smart phones, laptops, and studied hairdressing for years. Those small wrist movements really did a number on me. I often experience wrist pain while driving, typing, or even something as simple as folding laundry. Of course, that's where this brace comes into play. I try to use it preemptively when I'm going on a long drive, or when I know I'll be writing on my laptop for extended periods. This often prevents the pain from coming all together. When it's too late and my wrists are already inflamed, I put these on to prevent further movement and damage until it feels a little better to me. As far as the Futuro 3M brand goes, it's the most comfortable one I've come across for one reason: the fabric in between my index finger and thumb! I've had so many others that rub that spot to the point of annoyance, while this fabric is elastic and very flexible. The rest of the brace is padded where it needs to be - mostly on the inner part of your hand - and leaves full function of your fingers otherwise.
