Flat Cutting "Nail Clippers" with Smooth Motion, Clean Cuts, and a Good Spring that Stays Put
There's so many garbage tools out there right now that it is hard to make a choice on what to risk spending money on. I deliberated for months trying to find the correct tool for what I need done. I have tried a few other brands and options, but non have done what I needed. You see, I have a lot of 1/3" pills that need to be cleanly cut into quarters. These pills are very fragile and difficult to get clean cuts on. Everything else I have tried has worked only slightly better than a hammer. I finally started using regular fingernail clippers, and had far better results than pill cutters or knives, but still had a lot of shattering. Then I tried strait nail clippers, but they still put pressure on the pills in an uneven manner, causing the areas where the blade were not in contact, yet, to shatter. This pair contacts the entire diameter of the pill at the same time, so the pressure is applied equally. In addition, that tiny spring you see in the handle? That spring STAYES exactly where it was originally installed at the manufacturers! This means that you don't have to mess with resetting the spring before every use, nor do you have to try and find it! The spring works smoothly, allowing these clippers to easily be used one handed for repeated cuts. The handles are comfortable, too. As for size, these clippers are the size of jeweler's pliers. Normally it takes me over a half an hour to deal with cutting a month's worth of pills, and it is a frustrating experience requiring a lot of cleanup afterwords. This time it took me about 5 minutes to cut 4 months worth of pills, and clean up afterwards! So, if you are looking for a quality product, these definitely are that! Are they the right product for you? That you will have to figure out for yourself. However, if you are looking for a tool with a flat, clean cut that applies equal pressure across the entire blade as it cuts, and you aren't cutting hard objects (these won't work on metal, wood, or the like), these flat bladed fingernail clippers are very good.
