I got this set of dental picks from G.CATACC for crafting and not necessarily dental care. However, these seem very sturdy and well made, and I am sure they would work well as actual dental tools. I am using mine for making dollhouse miniatures. They work very well for getting stuck bits out of tiny wooden furniture and carving polymer clay. I am sure this also translates well to getting stuck food bits out of teeth and plaque out of crevices. These tools seem very solid and well made. They are thicker than my old ones, and they are much more sturdy, with less chance of warping or breaking with use. The platic carrying case works well and closes/latches solidly to keep these tools safe when not in use. The tools also come with rubber covers on the ends to keep them protected and gouge free. I am continuing to use the rubber ends to keep everything pointy and safe when not in use and during travel. There is one dental probe type, one dental pick type, one tartar scraper, and one gum scraper/scaler type. I will note that mine didn't come with any instructions for use, so I am glad I am just using mine for crafts. I wouldn't know how to use them on my teeth safely, and I'd recommend finding some directions before just going at actual teeth with these. For what I needed mine for these go above and beyond. They are some solid stainless steel tools, and I really recommend them. Read more

G.Catacc's dental kit includes two double-ended tools that measure about 6" in length. They come with tip protectors and a clear plastic case for storage or travel. Although the product description claims they're stainless steel, in my experience, these sorts of tools rust in the textured grip part of the handle, so be sure to dry them thoroughly before putting them away. Squeeze a microfiber towel around the grip to get the moisture out without roughing up the towel. Plaque is the sticky, yellow-tinged substance that hardens into gritty tartar if you can't reach a tooth surface to brush or floss it away. The scraper tool has flat blades at either end, one angled, for removing tartar on hard-to-reach surfaces. Using the straight end, scrape (gently!) away from the gums to avoid pushing tartar further into the gumline. If a surface isn't discolored and doesn't feel gritty, don't use the scraper on it. I don't recommend inserting the blades into the gumline; leave that to a trained professional. I don't use the angled end, because it has a very sharp tip and I have sensitive gums. The dental pick has sharp hooks at either end—one with a rounded shape and the other angular—for removing food stuck between the teeth. Be very careful not to poke your gums! I don't use this tool often, but it has come in handy for removing dental floss that got stuck between my teeth. I would prefer if the tips weren't quite so sharp. I don't feel they have to be, to remove food particles and stuck dental floss. Read more
I put them in alcohol for about 20min, then removed them and dried them. 12 hrs later there is rust on both of them. I know that stainless steel should not rust. That it is meant for dental applications is worse, as I would not trust using rusting equipment. I will be returning them. Read more
These dental picks are good quality and feel solid in the hand. They do a nice job of getting into places that a toothbrush can't reach, but you do need to be extra careful to avoid damaging your teeth or gums. I like that they come with a carrying case, which makes it easy to keep them clean and store them safely. The textured handles give a secure grip so they don't slip while using them. They're also easy to disinfect with hot water, which makes them reusable for a long time. The tips are sharp enough to be effective without feeling flimsy. I've found them especially useful for cleaning around tight spots and for keeping up with my oral care between dentist visits. The compact size makes them easy to take along when traveling too. For the price, I would say it's a good value considering the quality and the case included. Lastly, I'm rating this 5-stars because I would definitely get this again. Read more
