These shorts have a great fit. They are high waisted and I feel nice and secure wearing them. They are made from a light material and good quality. They dry quickly when they get wet. These shorts are the elusive holy grail of what I've been looking for in a pair of shorts! They're comfortable and the four-way stretch is fantastic! I am a size 10-12, 5'6", age 48, and I carry my weight in my thighs. Many shorts styles are built for people with tummies. That is not my problem area. My thighs are definitely not my favorite part of my body! And it's very difficult to find things that are wide enough through the thighs and not bulky through the rise and to the waist. These fit the bill! I love not having the extra fabric around my middle with a drawstring. And they are finally big enough around the thigh to not be skin tight. And as a total bonus, they don't ride up when walking! I highly recommend these to anybody who's active and has more of a pear shape middle-aged body. I like to kayak and hike, and it's been very difficult to find shorts that fit my body and don't bind and ride up. These are fantastic! They're a nice length too, not too short and not too long.
