This time, the mat arrived with a strong chemical smell—something I hadn’t experienced with previous Gaiam mats. It was noticeable enough that I didn’t want to use it right away. However, I left it outside for a full day to air out, and that completely resolved the issue. Now it’s odor-free and perfect for daily use. Once aired out: * It’s non-slip, even during barefoot yoga sessions. * It offers just the right amount of cushion—not too thick, not too thin. * It stays in place on hardwood floors and doesn’t curl up at the edges. * It’s also lightweight and easy to roll up, which makes it super convenient to take to class or move from room to room. The only reason for the 4 stars is the unexpected smell out of the package, but since it aired out easily and everything else about the mat is great, I’ll still continue buying from Gaiam. I love everything about this mat from the price, to the grip, to the design and color! It is the perfect length and width for my yoga or Pilates and while it's thin, it has great grip on hardwood or carpet!
