First, some stats: I'm 5'1", 125lb, and usually wear either a S or XS in shirts, depending on how fitted they are. In this case, based on the model photo, i bought a S. I'm...reasonably satisfied but not overjoyed with it. My main complaints are that it's VERY fitted and that it's slightly short (and keep in mind that I'm saying that as someone who's vertically challenged already). It hits just at my waistband after washing it, which is shorter than I want it to be. As far as being fitted, the fabric is ribbed and the intention seems to be that those ribs will stretch to fit. Realistically, that means you need to be prepared for this to fit like a second skin. The fabric is of a good thickness and seems to be high quality, and the price is very reasonable, but Amazon Essentials makes a very similar product that's of a better length for a comparable price, so next time I'm in the market for a plain tank, that's what I'll be buying instead of this. Ordered 2 of these initially, 1 in black and 1 in light grey, both in size S as I still have some 15 year old Gap white ribbed tanks 100% cotton back then that I wear under itchy sweaters and those are a S. The small black tank fits great, with a bit of room for what I need it for (chest port access) and if I didn't have health issues and just wanted them for fashion reasons an XS would have been my choice. My first light grey tank had to be exchanged as one of the sides hadn't been fully seamed shut so it had a gaping hole. The replacement light grey tank is an obvious L but labeled S. It is larger than all of my Old Navy, Target and H&M ribbed tanks in the same style I purchased a few years ago in size M when my chest was a bit larger. The length of the shoulder straps are much longer too - I'm glad I own a lot of bralettes that make it look like their visibility is intentional. This proves the "S" in the light grey I received is way too large as opposed to the black being a bit too small - especially since the fabric content is the same for both at 58%/38%/4%. Maybe it was just a fluke in the shipment from the factory in Vietnam from the 08/22 production line since the first light grey one had to be exchanged for a QC issue as well. I also advise you wait to buy these when they go on sale periodically as the price can fluctuate from roughly $7 to $17. If I hadn't been in such a rush or had known this would happen I would have waited and not spent full price on one of them because trust me - they're not worth it. Read more

I purchased this tank top for about $5 on sale, and the quality is good! It has a very slim fit so I would size up if you don't want it hugging your body. In regular Gap t-shirts, Small Petite fits slightly loose and does NOT hug my body. The material is soft, strong, and really comfortable. I don't like having GAP across my chest (who would?), but it's black so it's not easy to see. The thing I dislike is when I wear this without a bra, the underside of the letters feels slightly abrasive on my skin. If this tank didn't say Gap on it I would order one in every possible color. I love the square cut in front, as it's the most flattering and I can't find this style easily. It fits perfectly, the straps never fall down, and for $5 it's so worth it.
