I last had a rug like this in the 1960's and was surprised to find it, but got a notion to look for one because they add a warm look to a bathroom and feel nice underfoot without having the chopped up appearance of a little rug here and a contour there. The rug stays snug to the tile floor and hasn't shifted at all in a couple of days of use. It was easy to cut and heavy enough without being too bulky for machine washing. I haven't tried washing it yet. It would probably be better to take it to an oversized commercial machine. The weight when wet is not good for a home machine. I'm sure I would not have the strength to hand wash this, which the manufacturer recommends, but delicate machine wash is listed as okay. To cut, I would recommend creating a pattern with newspaper and masking tape; heavier paper might be easier to use. Also, you should mark your pattern with "This side up" so the you don't accidentally cut a mirror image of what you need, which is a very easy mistake to make. Put the pattern on the back with the up side down (facing the same direction as the top of the rug). Mark carefully, using a yardstick to keep your lines straight. Use sharp scissors. Before you cut, stand in the area of your doorway with respect to the rug and ask yourself it you're seeing the reverse of what the room is shaped like, which is correct, if you're looking at the backing. I have a vague recollection of getting this wrong the first time, more than 50 years ago, so I'm trying to spare someone a pitfall. I will update my review if anything changes later, but so far I'm delighted. Before you buy, make sure your door will clear without scraping the rug. If it clears an ordinary plush throw rug, it should be fine. Read more

This carpet is nice, very plush and easy to cut with regular scissors. I ordered Platinum Grey. It actually is more of a marbled pattern - not a solid color. It is a little busy with my counter top, but I will keep it. The only problem is that it is so plush, my scale doesn't work.. I lost 5 pounds just by putting down carpet :). The packaging was horrible. The carpet was wrapped in heavy plastic with "keep away from children warnings" stamped on the plastic. The ink of the warning rubs off on hands, clothing, furniture. CAME FOLDED: HAD BIG CREASES. I COULD NOT FIGURE HOW TO GET THEM OUT. I BELEIVE YOU SHOULD GET THE PRODUCT AS IT IS DISPLAYED ON-LINE. I RETURNED. PERHAPS THE SHIPPER SHOULD PUT SOME INFORMATION IN THE BOX ON HOW TO REMOVE THE CREASES. However, the color was good. The product was a bit thin but it is made to cut to size which it would have been perfect. Read more
