First off if you're going to spend this kind of money, then you really should have a need for this watch. This is a great watch for anyone that is currently serving or has served in the military and has any kind of habits or recreational activities that they like to do. This is also great for any kind of first responders law enforcement game wardens especially being out there in the brush. I chose the solar model because I am outdoors a lot. Battery life assuming that you're outside and you're able to get those beautiful sun rays do extend the watches battery life as advertised. I would recommend getting a case for your watch after you get it so you don't ding it around and bang it even though it is made from very durable material you still want to try to protect that material as much as possible. The information that this watch gives is accurate I've tested it against actual blood pressure cups blood oxygen level readings from medical devices and it's literally on par. The new rucking feature is easy to use and accurate. Also having a flashlight on your watch is a definite world changer especially when you are getting up in the middle of the night you need to find something real quick or you're trying to do simple or complex tasks in the dark. The software is easy to follow and read. This watch is definitely a tool if you're going to pay $1,600 or $1,300 for this watch depending upon the model I mean you can go pick up medical equipment firearms anything else with that kind of price point so definitely this is a tool and one that screams to be used in the field. I would highly recommend having this tool even if you're just in an outdoor adventure. I chose this watch model specifically for its promised 40-day battery life. Initially, it lasted about three weeks before needing a recharge, which was impressive. However, now it only lasts up to 7 days. While this is still much better than the Apple Watch, I’m disappointed because I opted for this model over one with a sharper display for the sake of battery longevity, and it hasn’t fully met my expectations. I've had several smartwatches, including a couple of Apple watches, this Garmin makes all of them look like Dollar store specials. The Garmin OS is more intuitive than any of the others, and has more apps than all of the others. The quality of the materials used is so much better than the others, from the better more tactile buttons to the solid case that doesn't get mad when it gets wet. The battery lasts so much longer than any watch I've used, like 29 days without using the battery saver app, two weeks if I set the display to always on. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone looking for a comfortable high quality watch with a lot of functions. Read more
I absolutely love my new Garmin Tactix 8! As someone who switched over from the Apple Watch Ultra, I couldn’t be happier. I was tired of the constant need to charge the Apple Watch, and the Tactix 8 has completely changed the game for me. The watch is incredibly rugged, and the new bezel design looks stunning. Previously, I only wore my Apple Watch Ultra during workouts or physical activities, opting for luxury watches at work. But ever since I got the Tactix 8, it hasn’t left my wrist—it’s that good! The battery life is phenomenal; I can go more than 20 days without charging. Plus, when I’m at the pool with my kids, it charges in the sun, which is such a convenient feature. I can take calls and receive texts on the Tactix 8, so I don’t miss my Apple Watch at all. It even has a handy ‘find my iPhone’ feature. One surprise feature I didn’t realize I’d love so much is the built-in flashlight. I find myself using it all the time—it’s incredibly practical.
