Gatco 1495MX Shower Basket 7 Inch Matte Black Wall Mounted Stainless Steel Shower Caddy Shelf For Bathroom Storage

We installed two of these baskets in our new shower; one in the corner at the shower head end, the other in the "back" corner. The basket finish matches other Gatco, Hansgrohe, and Delta brushed nickle fixtures and accessories and looks much nicer than bright chrome. The basket will hold two large diameter shampoo & conditioner bottles and the open front makes it real easy to take them in and out but still keeps them securely stored. The end is a good place to hang items which have a loop (e.g., squeegee wash cloth, etc.). Mounting is easy and the basket comes with nice hidden screw heads. All of the support wires are not at the same level. The front four wires are shorter than the others, creating a slope that does not allow any product to be stationed there. Read more

This item seems quite sturdy, has heavy chrome plating and looks really nice. It goes up easily and strongly (be sure to get a 1/4 inch tile/glass bit), using the screws and anchors that come with it. In fact, I only used four of the eight mounting holes, and it was still very stable. A particularly nice touch is the screw-on caps that go over the mounting screws. One little trick that helped in drilling the mounting holes was to use a hammer and a nail punch (you could probably also use a 10D nail) to make a little nick in the surface of the tile where the center of the mounting hole is. This gives the drill bit something to bite into and not wander off the hole. To make this mount well, you must have the drilled holes really well-aligned with the holes in the caddy. I just finished installing this Chrome Corner Caddy in my tile shower. This product is high quality, not flimsy metal but substantial without being bulky. I LOVE the chrome screw head covers which makes the installation really look "custom". These are stainless steel wall screws (I hope!) with brass fittings that slip over the head of the screw with threads. Chrome finish knobs screw into the brass threads giving the job a finished appearance with no ugly screw heads. Time will tell if the metal and fasteners hold up to the wet shower environment without pitting or rusting. Read more

It looks nice in place and serves the purpose. The distance from the lower basket to the upper is not tall enough for a number of men's liquid soap containers. That is the only drawback. Read more
