Fits 2005 PT Cruiser
Used on av2005 PT Cruiser Touring Edition. Fits perfect and applies the recommended amount of tension. According to the belt tension guidance from support manuals the belt tension is correct if you can move to the larger open spot on belt and move approximately 1/4" up/down (deflection) with approximately 10 pounds of force. This tensioner held true to the test. Read more
Can't go wrong with Gates
After replacing a power steering pump, two drive belts, and realizing that I was ONLY temporarily fixing my belt squeal issue with my Dodge Neon SRT4, I finally replaced the tensioner and it was the culprit all along!! I was able to install this by jacking the car up only. Didn't have to remove the wheel. Use a very, VERY short weld socket and the slimmest rachet you have. Back it out enough that you don't bottom out the rachet against frame and then remove it by hand. Repeat install, took all but 20 minutes. Read more
Belt is nice and tight now
The belt squeal was driving me crazy and even though it felt like the belt was tight enough, the old tensioner was moving and causing the squeak. I replaced it with this one and now no more squeak. Read more
