Fixed my kayak perfectly! Tried paint-on flex seal but soon as sun got to it that stuff peeled right off. Then I tried marine type epoxy weld didn't work either. This Gator patch was the only thing that worked and I had a pretty sizable hole in the bottom. I did use 3 layers and let it harden and sand in between layers. It works as promised and you do have to work quickly with it because once sunlight hits it, it starts to set and harden rather fast! A bit pricy but worth every penny! Read more
I used this to repair a spot on the hull of a kayak. The product is easy to use and has a solid bond, and you would need some dynamite to make a hole in it. It's amazing. I really like this stuff. A little pricey, but if you use this for a repair, you will not need to do it again. Read more
I used this on the keel of my kayak that I take up and down the beach all the time. At first I thought it was invincible. But after a summer it was showing moderate wear. Easy to install. Attached to my kayak very well. Amazing product. I would use it again. Read more
I have a pond prowler high density polyethylene bass boat and have replaced hte boat several times because I drag it into and out of the water on cement or rock boat ramps and the resultant scrapes on the back and keel eventually wear through and make holes. The most recent boat purchase I wanted to protect those key areas on at bottom so they wouldn't wear out. The trick is that most adhesives will not stick to this plastic but this patch does per the instructions. I used it with success, it is thick fiberglass and sticks well, and after a couple fishing trips I found that the boat dragging does not seem to scratch the patch. The patch adheres with uv light so will set quickly on a very sunny day. Finally found my solution! Youtube tests on those thin rubber patches shows they just scape off and I also tried liquid rubber and it scraped off on the first trip. This is the answer! Read more
Absolutely useless. Product was not flexible at all and had big wrinkles in it straight out of the package. Hardened completely, within less than a minute, before I could even get it pressed down enough to try to flatten it out and then peeled right off. Don't waste your money. Read more
Had to return my first order and get another one due to the product being defective. The backing was bubbled and didn’t peel cleanly, making it unusable. However, the second one that was sent was fine and this thing works great! I patched a cluster of small holes in an old fiberglass tank with a single larger patch and it cured/hardened quickly and is a good thickness for added strength. Easy to trim and work with. Even the little bit I trimmed off came in handy to stop the end of a crack in the tank, too. It hardened within a couple of hours on a cloudy day and has not lifted or creased since application. Will definitely use again should I need a hard patch! Read more
At the recommendation of a friend, I purchased 2 of these patches to reinforce the bottom front and back of my kayak where it would hit the rocks and sand launching, beaching or dragging ashore.( my previous kayak got a hole in that area). The size is perfect for those areas. Instructions are clear and the patch is easy to attach. It dries quickly and hard as a rock. Thickness is great but make sure you sand and smooth the edges to ensure it stays on when dragging your kayak. Great quality. I highly recommend it. Read more
