This is a well-designed, well-built, high day & night visibility medical emergency backpack. With its bright color, high visibility stripes, and reflective tape, it can be readily seen. More importantly, it is large enough to carry the equipment we feel is necessary for an emergency (photos) from light cuts and scrapes to trauma. As can be seen in the one photo, this bag can carry a lot of equipment and unlike our earlier duffel-type bag, it can be carried more comfortably as a backpack. PROS • Well-designed, well-built, medical emergency backpack. • Available in high daytime visibility colors with nighttime reflective tape. • Multiple zippered pockets, each with high visibility zipper pulls. • Two large compartments capable of holding three “tackle boxes” filled with OTC (over-the-counter) drugs, band aids, sterile pads, tape, and small miscellaneous equipment, as well as a large, heavy-duty survival blanket. • Chest strap between the two shoulder straps helps secure the backpack and the snap buckle is a whistle. Review for RED Trauma Bag. I am a former EMT and keep emergency medical supplies in my vehicles, workshop, and home. Bottom Line – this is a wonderful Trauma-Kit bag with ample room, a great layout, enough pockets (but not too many to get stuff lost), and easy access to the main compartment. The main compartment cover opens all the way to the bottom of the bag, which allows great access to the contents without digging. I package “like” supplies in compressed zip-lock bags, so contents are easy to find and there aren’t a lot of little loose items to deal with (or fall out). The bag can stand upright or lay flat (against the shoulder straps) and you have near instant access to the entire main compartment and the sub-pockets on the inside of the front cover. The four external pockets (two front plus one each side) are easy to access; the larger front pocket has 3 dividers, elastic loops, and a zippered mesh sub-pocket. I will use a wide-tipped permanent marker to label the pockets primary contents (e.g., Airways, CPR Mask, Tourniquets, etc.) to aid quick location in an emergency (or to help someone else using my bag). A large, padded handle at the top makes for easy carry if not wearing this as a backpack. The reflective tape increases safety and ability to locate the bag at night. This bag has all the room you need to carry your emergency medical supplies anywhere. I like the backpack format better than the traditional bag. The bag is layer out very well. There are built in pouches and loops for easy access to supplies. The outside pockets store the most frequently used supplies. There are pockets for about everything. The main compartment has a lot of open space for larger items or kitbags. As a backpack it carries very well. It’s not to large yet not to small. The straps are comfortable and has a chest strap which is a plus. The material seems durable and somewhat water resistant. The zippers work well. All in all I am very pleased with this bag. I use this bag as a "go bag" for volunteer work I do. I use it partially for first aid and partially for other things I might need. I have in it: t-shirt, thin long-sleeve, pant liners, two pairs of socks, a safety vest, a small camping first aid kit, a CPR mask, hand warmers, a radio ear piece, a radio harness, bug stray and sunscreen. So, you can see it holds a decent amount. Overall, the bag is great. Positive + I replaced a regular duffel bag and the extra pockets make it much easier to find thing, especially the smaller items. + The two main pockets each have two zippers, which is much better than a single zipper that you have to open the whole way (and stuff spills) just to gain access. + The first aid symbol is removable and is attached with Velcro. It is nice to be able to remove if you want to use for other purposes some of the time. + The shoulder straps have a small whistle as part of the chest clip. Nice extra feature. + The bottom of the bag has rubber feet to help protect the bottom. As long as the bag is mostly full, they will help. Negative - None to note. Read more

This is a very robust bag. The fabric is heavy nylon and the stitching seems strong. There are several compartments, some with fitted pouches and so on, though as usual it's not obvious what some of the fittings are meant to do. The main compartment could benefit from more internal partitions, but if you need to keep things separated, you can always get some packing cubes or just use zip-top bags. There's no hip belt, nor any built-in way to attach one. This is unfortunate, since for most people this pack is tall enough and holds enough that a hip belt would be helpful. I think belt anchors could be sewn in by a good alterations shop, though. I got the orange bag. The fabric is bright and colorful, very easy to see. I've set it up with a trauma kit and other roadside emergency essentials, and now it's living in my trunk. Recommended. Read more
