For the Moza owners... Awesome High-Quality Stand!
Great deal for a fantastic stand for Moza Wheels and equipment! TL:DR - Best deal I could find that ended up being a high quality stand that works perfectly as a non-permanent racing-sim setup! Background: My son has shown a strong interest in cars and racing - he's 12 years old... It's quickly growing as one of his favorite interests. Being a super dope dad and gamer bro myself, I decided to put together a racing sim setup for him as a way to support his hobbies and interests. I'm lucky enough to have a dedicated office/game room that allows two PC setups but wanted my kids' PC to be operable as both a productivity workstation, gaming PC and a racing sim setup. A full racing sim rig is obviously ideal for the most serious of racers but sometimes that's just not an option. Moza Compatible (see pics): A lot of stands focus on some of the other bigger brands like Logitech or Fanatec. All the pre-drilled holes and slots work with Moza wheels/add-ons perfectly. We use an R5 Wheel, 3 Pedal Setup, HGP Shifter and Hand Brake (not pictured) and it all bolted down with no issues. Once cable managed and all buttoned up this thing is sick and I couldn't be happier!! Quality: It's basically what you would expect, coated steel frame (not the highest quality steel but does the job), pre-drilled and a few pre-tapped holes... Mostly it's held together by nuts and bolts. It will take a bit of time to build it and make sure everything is set up correctly - probably an hour or even more. Included is decent quality hardware with extra bits and pieces. Some of the stand comes to put together already (the cross brace and pedal platform) which is rare these days! It's totally adjustable as far as height and the measurements on this page are correct. The adjustable "height" hardware comes with "lobed" knobs which is helpful. Includes soft rubber feet so it doesn't slide and dampers vibrations... There is some flex to the stand but the components are heavy so that's as expected. Without a full seated setup this is pretty much gonna happen with every stand. When I'm racing I don't notice it much at all - the stand does not tip in the slightest when taking hard/sharp turns. Overall, I would expect this stand to be well over $100 - which is what the name brands charge. Suggestions (see pics): The only thing I changed was between the stand's "foot rest" and the Moza "pedal plate" to make it easily adjustable up and down the footrest. I used the two bolts that came with the Moza pedal plate (countersunk at the front) and attached them so the user can easily slide the pedals up and down the foot rest of the stand, depending on the size of who is using it... To prevent the pedal plate from tipping upward from being too tight, I stacked two thick M6 nylon spacers between the top of the foot rest platform and the bottom of the pedal plate. The bolts go through the spacers and are tightened underneath by M6x32 "lobed" knobs. The use of fender washers (think small inner-diameter hole and wide outer-diameter) on the bottom of the spacers (top of the foot rest) and directly underneath (against the lobed knobs) to make sure the spacers don't get stuck in the foot rest slots and slide up and down with ease. This makes it 10x easier to slide the pedals up and down the footrest while still being completely tightened down so you can fold up the stand. It worked great! I included two pics in case my description wasn't great (I'm trying, ok?). Read more
