I should have read the description more carefully, but the title is misleading. This is not appropriate for kitchen use. It’s a huge caddy, taking up about a third of my sink. And while one photo shows canned food, the main listing should clearly present it as a shower caddy. The knobs are plastic coated metallic paint, rather than stainless steel, so they won’t look good for long. The unit itself feels sturdy, but I can’t speak to the suction cups since I won’t be able to use this oversized caddy. Read more

This GEDLIRE Shower Caddy has a solid stainless steel basket held up by strong adhesive circles capped with silver-colored plastic tops. It is generously sized enough to hold five or six bottles of shampoo/conditioner/soap. (See last photo.) It looks very neat and clean and will nicely match chrome bath fixtures. It took a little research to figure out how this caddy was meant to be installed. It is not hard to do once you figure it out, but it helps to know what the goal is before you take aim. In spite of what the instructions say, the caddy is held up by strong adhesive, not suction cups. (That's a good thing. Suction cups are notoriously unstable, especially in wet environments.) It is possible, but not easy, to move the adhesive circles once they have been placed. And it probably weakens the adhesive. So be very sure of where you want them before placing them. The top rung of the stainless steel caddy goes into an indentation in the back silver cap. So make sure that indentation is completely horizontal and where you want the top of the caddy to be when you place the adhesive circle. It helps if you keep the back cap in the circle while you're doing it, so that you can see where the line goes. The two steel extensions at the back are meant to go at the bottom to keep the bottom and top parts of the caddy at the same distance from the wall so that the caddy stays truly vertical. The weak point in the design is that the whole shebang is held up by the plastic caps that go over the adhesive circles. As the instructions say, and as is repeated on the adhesive circle assemblies themselves, the top plastic cap must be turned at least 6-7 times to make sure that it tightly holds the caddy in place. No problem with that. The problem is--think about it--that solid stainless steel caddy, along with anything you put into it, is held up only by two hard plastic caps. That's a lot of weight to put on two small points. Maybe it won't matter. It is still probably strong enough to hold up a normal amount of stuff under normal conditions. But it would not take much to fail--even if the caps are properly screwed on. Another problem I have with this caddy is that the bottom of the basket has a rectangular grid rather than a square one. That means that your bottles may not stand up straight if placed longways (parallel to the rectangular grid). They must be placed crossways, as in the last photo. Not a big problem. But it seems that it would not be much harder or cost much more to make the basket with a square grid on the bottom, at least, so that it will hold up anything in any direction. Metal shower caddies can be had for anywhere from $10 to $30. At $21.99, this shower caddy is on the expensive side, given that there is only one. You can get two metal shower caddies (not stainless steel) for $10 or five for $20. Or two stainless steel caddies, similar to this one, for $16. The basket of this caddy seems to be sturdier and roomier than most of them. So it is still a reasonable choice. Aside from that, it seems hard to justify the relatively high price tag. The basket of this shower caddy is unusually sturdy, roomy, and attractive. The adhesive and plastic caps on the cups are probably strong enough to hold up a reasonable amount of stuff under reasonable conditions. If you like the design of this caddy for your purposes, go for it! Otherwise, you can find others that may do better for a lower price. Read more
