GenTeal Tears Gel helps to lubricate and sooth extremely dry eyes. This is a quality product distributed by Alcon Laboratories. I was happy to see it available from Amazon because last year I was unable to find the product anywhere in the U.S. or Canada! GenTeal Tears Gel is an effective treatment for dry eye syndrome. It is especially helpful during the winter months when the heat is on. It is expensive but after trying other dry eye remedies I find this product works! I have severe dry eyes and I have been looking for substitute for Muro drops and ointment for months. I can't find Muro anywhere plus it is crazy expensive. I saw this GenTeal gel and decided to give it a try. First of all, it really doesn't seem like a gel. It is more like slightly thicker drops. I was expecting a much thicker product. There's no stinging when I insert this gel into my eyes like with Muro but I guess the stinging is to stimulant the tear ducts and make them produce tears. This gel leaves my eyes blurry for a few minutes then they feel refreshed and much less dry. The lubrication lasts about six hours, sometimes more. I use this gel during the day and I just ordered the ointment to use at night. I am hoping it is thick and will keep my eyes lubricated all night. If so, I may have found my Muro substitutes. This is definitely better than regular eye drops and I will continue buying it. Read more
I use it at night because I have dry eye and I have a thinner gel that I use during the morning when I first wake up and but this stuff is amazing. It really is amazing. My baby girl, now my old gal, developed facial paralysis on one side of her face, kind of the canine version of Bells Palsy, so her face didn't just droop on that side but she wasn't blinking her eye. The Vet told me it could go away, or may not, only time would tell, but because of the non-blinking, to get the GenTeal products. I immediately did, the lubricant and drops, both are great. This product has been amazing for her. I've applied it after each walk (Fall and Winter, lots of wind and at times brutally cold). It's absolutely comforted her a lot and I'm happy/relieved to say that she's starting to blink that eye again (4 months later). True, it could have gone away on it's own, it's not fully gone yet, but I absolutely attribute it to this eye gel, both GenTealeye products. They're a bit of a miracle. That being said, they are a bit pricey for the size of the bottle if you use it multiple times a day, the Gel is far larger than the more liquid bottle and lasts much longer because of it, but both, in my opinion, are a overpriced for what they are and/or the size.
