I used Kirkland chocolate chips until Costco stopped carrying them. I switched to Ghiradelli, and it's a superior product. The chips melt smoothly, and the chocolate is very flavorful and not too sweet. Too bad they're a bit pricey. For me, though, it's worth the extra expense. Read more

I needed these white chocolate chips for a recipe. The quality is nice as well as the size. Melts quickly with just a tablespoon of coconut oil. Taste is consistent with the Ghirardelli name Easy to use in recipe. Price point is pricey considering this product was $2 to $3 less a few years ago. Read more

My favorite chocolate chips! Creamy, dreamy and just the right amount of dark chocolate flavor. Great price here (less expensive than local grocery stores). Read more

I bought these to make microwave s'mores with. I've always preferred semi sweet chocolate chips to a whole bar of milk chocolate. This is a very nice quality of chocolate. It reminds me of Toll House morsels, but you can definitely taste that the ingredients are a cut above in quality. I must say, they make a delicious s'more and I'll be sure to make some chocolate chip cookies, the real test of any semi-sweet morsel, before they're all gone. Read more

Item received as expected. Product is superior in my opinion, the melt it faster than store brand chocolate and taste is amazing. Not too sweet or too bitter, it's got that perfect coco sweetness balance. I used this for Chex Muddy Buddies with ground up oreo cookies. Yummy. Highly recommend. Read more

The milk chocolate chips were great! Made candy with them -- only added some coconut oil -- and everyone loved them. I love that it was a double bag. I will be buying again and will be using them for all baking, candy making, and hot chocolate. Read more

4.22.24 adding to my review: My original review &, apparently, follow-up was all about the price gouging on these, as well as most food items post pandemic. I guess everyone's gotten their pay increases so they're willing to pay all the higher prices--everyone except those of us on a fixed income. Never mind the power of the purse by refraining from purchasing items that we're being gouged on. I guess that was too much to ask. Here's what I'd like to add and it's about the quality.... I read an article on the high heavy metal counts found in chocolate chips and other chocolates several months ago. What I found especially interesting is that Ghirardelli was found to have the least. I'd love to being buying their 70% Cacao Chips but they're only available in 5 lb bags for over $50.00 That's a lot of money to spend at one time on chocolate chips. If someone is offering them in a smaller package, the price is outrageous!! I wish AMAZON would add the Ghirardelli 70% Cacao Chips to Fresh at a reasonable price. That would probably put an end to the price gouging and if not, well, those of us on a budget, could still afford to buy some. ------------ Yes, still like these but JC! (Jiminy Cricket) GREED IS TRULY ALIVE AND WELL. Ghirardelli 60% Cacao Bittersweet Baking Chips 20 oz bag I purchased in Mar '23 for $6.39. Guess what they are tonight-6’23, just 3 mos. later? Take your pick of buying options starting at $19.39 a bag and going up from there. That’s 3 X the price of just 3 mos. ago!! I’m on a crusade… WHEN SELLERS ARE GOUGING—REGARDLESS WHO THEY ARE… 3RD PARTY, MANUFACTURERS OR OTHERWISE….. WE, THE PEOPLE—(ALMOST 4TH OF JULY) ER.. AH,,, CONSUMER, SHOULD LET THEM KNOW WHAT WE THINK. YOU CAN BE SURE I’LL MAKE A NOTE OF THOSE SELLERS AND NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!! THERE’S SIMPLY TOO MUCH UN-WARANTED RAISED PRICING GOING ON BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT. WHY? BECAUSE THAT’S ALL ANYONE TALKS ABOUT. HIGH FOOD PRICES AND INFLATION. PEOPLE ARE BEGINNING TO EXPECT & ACCEPT IT. SHAME ON THOSE GREEDY SELLERS AND SHAME ON US. NOT sure what I’ll do…. The smaller chocolate chip bags 10 oz are now at $0.529/oz. instead of the larger quantity at $0. xx /oz are obviously the better buy. BUT…. Those 10 oz bags have gone up from $0.469/oz in Feb.’23 to $0.529 /oz in June’23. Pennies right? Just +$0.06 oz but reality is.. that’s a 12% price increase. I don’t know about your income, but my SS hasn’t ever seen a 12% increase. Maybe it’s time I quit putting chocolate chips in my muffins. Sure, I could get cheaper semi-sweets, but I’m trying to cut sugar and eat things that are better for me. Am I being too critical? I don’t think so. It all adds up. +!2% on 60% dark (minimally dark) chocolate chips— or buy the larger quantity, that should be cheaper, at +300% . Then there’s the +25% on breakfast sausage patties — I’m not buying those tonight either and it goes on and on… Even the muffin mix had almost doubled and I refused to buy them anymore. Look at all the unions that are striking for higher wages. We’ve been here, done that before. That’s why all our manufacturing moved off shore yrs ago and unions lost their clout. Too bad so many don’t remember— history’s repeating at a time when we’re trying to bring manufacturing home. Once again, cutting off our noses to spite our faces. Employers were upping wages ($15/hr minimum) and adding benefits. Benefits my generation never even dreamed of. Workers have it so good today but will continue to ask for more & more until they break our economy completely. Meanwhile, commodity prices have come back down—there’s no longer the supply constraints there was during the pandemic. Gasoline prices have come back down in spite of OPEC trying to manipulate them back up; even eggs have come back down. Oh yes, my muffin mixes, they've come back down as well. We the people have to make a stand. There is no good reason for such huge price jumps other than greed and price gouging. Come on folks . Join me in refusing to pay these ridiculous prices! Otherwise, we’re in for more of it and soon no one will be able to afford to buy anything! I put a small handful of these Ghirardelli chips in the batter of blue berry muffins. Good for breakfast or any other time. The only thing about them I don't like is they are only 60% dark Cacao and to be really beneficial, they should be at least 70%. Other than that, they're great. If I were to bake chocolate chip cookies or other sweets, I'd use them for that too. Unfortunately, I've cut back on sweets so don't do much baking anymore. Read more
