Beautiful. Even if the game play were terrible you could sit and stare at the sunsets near one of the hot baths. Fighting feels very tactical--much better than games like Witcher 3 or Skyrim (which I also love). It's not an easy game, nothing like the Souls franchise, but don't think you can just walk into a Mongol camp and start swinging. You have to think-which also adds to the fun. Another fascinating aspect of the game is the historical element. You can go down the rabbit hole about the Mongols and the Samurai clans of Japan--it lends to some great gameplay and makes it easy to immerse yourself in the story. I'm only a few hours in, but I can tell this will be a long, enjoyable journey. Get it now before the second game comes out in 2025. Read more

Any of the many varied combative situations can be approached with multiple styles, combining the freedom to choose stealth, swordplay, or archery, with further varieties of sub-styles within each approach. Player skills improve with Character skills at a synergistic pace. Not a button-masher, rather immersive, even enthralling game play. A triumph!
