Great, smooth shave on a 3 day beard. Even better than I got wet shaving (astra double safety blades, Henry cavendish soap, badger hair brush). If the blades last half as long as they claim this will be more than worth the cost. I did decide to use a shaving oil so as not to clog the blades and I am very happy with that ( shhhh! Don’t tell anyone but I bought a shaving oil marketed for women. The stuff marketed for men was 7 times more expensive and Amazon has the stuff I bought in vanilla scent so I don’t smell like flowers). Overall, the razor and shaving oil give me the closest shave I’ve had in years (possibly ever since I’ve never had a real barber shave) with no cuts, minimal skin irritation, and easy cleanup. I would definitely recommend this razor with a decent shaving oil. Read more

Purchased this and razor system and started using it after delivery for over a month. I am very hard on razors so usually I use them for about a week to tens days until switching to a new one and looking for a good close shave. My problem spots are under my jaw and chin. The razor took good care of those problem spots and gave me a close smooth shave. Today it’s been over a month and the razor still works well without nicks and scratches like my other razors when they get dull. I have the metal handle which I prefer for the performance of the razor which I recommend for the use of these razor and blades. While the cost of replacement blades are a little high, the amount of time they last makes up for that cost. If it changes, I will update this review accordingly. Read more

I switched from the Schick Xtreme 3, which costs less per razor, but I only get one (razor burn eliciting) use out of before I have to discard. Which makes these Gillete Labs Razors on par in terms of cost with the cheaper Schicks, since I can get four shaves out of them before I need to discard. These Gillete Labs Razors don't burn, even on the fourth use. But, the strip is worn out after that, and I can feel that the blades has become a little dull. I first shave with the grain, then against it, for a very close shave. You need a good razor to do that without razor burn, and these are it. But, you need a very sharp blade too, so after four uses, even these start to dull. The lubricating strip is all used up by then too. Read more

The handle is really nice in the hands, feels great while shaving, the piviot head works well. I don't notive the rotating action, but I sure it moves ever so slightly on the face. The stand works well, has not fallen off, unlike some of the budget brands. Its nice that it comes with 4 blades, and offers options on buying with or without a travel case. You either get 4 blades and no case, or 3 blades and a travel case. Nice options. I moved one star since the blades on the website show you can get 30 shaves from them. I do not have a thick beard and got 20 shaves. The first 10 were great nice smooth face, the other half started to dull out, still with a little more pressure and several passes was able to get a nice shave. Over all if your using a budget brand or a club shave, these last longer and are a better and closer shave. Read more

These are very good razor blades. I have purchased them in the past and they last a long time. The magnetic base that comes with it makes storing it really easy. Read more

At first glance, the Gillette razor impresses with its minimalist, premium aesthetic. The magnetic stand and modern contours suggest a high-end experience; one that, regrettably, doesn’t extend to the shave itself. The built-in exfoliating bar, while an intriguing concept, delivers more friction than finesse. Rather than prepping the skin for a smoother glide, it often feels abrasive, especially for those with sensitive skin. The blades, though sharp, tend to clog quickly, especially when used in conjunction with the exfoliating element. What should be a seamless experience becomes one that demands frequent rinsing and careful navigation. For a product positioned at the top of Gillette’s line, such inefficiencies are difficult to ignore. Additionally, the replacement cartridges come at a notably high price point, which might be justifiable if the performance matched the cost but in this case, it does not. The shave is serviceable, but far from exceptional, and certainly not an improvement over Gillette’s more traditional models. Read more
