Great can. I really enjoy this plus-sized garbage can so I don't have to take out the garbage too frequently. The lid seems to be very responsive and work very well. I’m giving this 4 stars, because like other reviews, this came dented. Luckily I was able to get the dent out with my hand and a rubber mallet, so I kept it. Really nice garbage can though. You can push the lid farther back afree opening it, and it will stay up so it’s not falling back down while you’re trying to take the full bag out. The design of the garbage can kind of tricks you into not overfilling it (I overfilled my old garbage can all the time) it has a rim that covers the edges where you roll the bag over so it hides that for you, you have to lift the rim to get the bag out. The pedal works great. And it’s very sturdy, my 60lb daughter has already climbed on top of it to get to the cereal cabinet. Read more

This thing is a beast. It feels really solid without being too heavy. It looks nice and fits standard trash bags well. It can be a bit cumbersome to use at first but once you figure out how to use it, it's quite simple. The bars holding the bag in place work very well, and the slow close lid is an extra convenience. Exactly what we needed. Came in great condition. Push pedal to open. I like how it has two metal bars to hold bag in place, I’ve not had a single issue of the bag slipping while in the trash can. This Glad Stainless Steel Step Trash Can is the one kitchen trash bin you need and be "Glad" you bought. We recently upgraded from a 13 gallon bin that finally broke on the step mechanism to open the lid. Could not repair it even with YouTube! This 20 gallon bin is the perfect size for daily kitchen trash and clean up. Wide opening by either the step or by lifting the lid with automatic return to close it. Great addition to the kitchen sink-disposer/island counter and dishwasher kitchen triangle. Definitely purchase the Glad 20 gallon bags designed to fit this bin when you order it. Bags are not included with the trash can. These bags are reasonably priced and tough. They easily carry a heavy compacted load of trash to take to the garbage can. You will appreciate the extra 7 gallon of trash capacity. A strong 5 on this product - lower reviews were due to damage in shipment and not to the product quality. Ours came shipped in the original packaging with corner reinforcement with thick cardboard packaging. Shipped in excellent condition by Amazon.
