Size is Perfect For Desktops...But Glitter Does NOT Stay Moving
I don't know why there are so many complaints and reviews with low stars because of the size of the lamp. It clearly states dimensions in the description! Guess people are just lazy and forget how to read through details BEFORE they impulse buy. With that said, I like the size and is perfect for my desktop. However, the reason for the 3-star review is that the product DOES NOT move the glitter around well. As some have stated, it's more like a snow globe, where you have to periodically shake it to get things moving...for a while. After three+ years, it is still working and cycles through all the colors. Do not know how the manufacturer constructs these lamps, but either the temperature is not warm enough to keep the glitter moving or the liquid chemical they use is not the right formula. I purchased this one when the glitter lamp I had for years finally stopped working. I do not recall the brand name, but I bought it at JC Penney after Christmas for a few dollars around 2009 or 2010. Bought a few of them and gave as gifts. Lasted over 10 years and in that one the glitter movement was perfect. Never had to shake it and it moved gently while it was turned on.
