I'd say order this dress in your usual size. I opted to go up a size, from medium to large, and it was too large on me. The dress does have a zipper on one side, and you probably want the dress to be fitted enough to have to use that zipper. For me, I was just able to step into the dress. The dress does have a beige colored slip built-in, but it does show through. You can see in the photos, my black undergarments and even my tattoo. If you had nips that are high contrast, you'd be able to see them underneath as well, so beware (as you cannot wear a bra with this backless dress). The chainlink exterior is pretty weighty (in a good way) and very sparkly, especially in the sunlight. It does stop as it nears the seams on the side of the dress.
