I've been looking forever for a fixture to replace the "boob" light in the hallway off the side of my kitchen - it leads to the food pantry closet, a bathroom and the garage. My preference would've been to install a flush-mount, low-profile LED fixture like I've done in my front foyer and upstairs landing, but the junction box in the ceiling isn't quite flush with the ceiling, so everything I've put there ends up slightly lopsided, with a gap where the fixture meets the ceiling. Most of the LED disc lights are too bright anyway and need a dimmer switch. This fixture does the job much better. Could it be brighter? Yes, but after a week with this fixture I've decided that most lights are too bright and we don't need hospital-level brightness in every area of the house. I suppose I could put in brighter bulbs, but no need (I have two 60w-equivalent LED bulbs in it now, and they're fine). Installing it is SO simple - there's the mounting bracket to screw into the junction box, the three wires to connect (wire nuts are included), and then you attach the fixture to the bracket. They give you two extra-long screws for this and there are four keyholes on the fixture itself. Pro tip: decide which holes you're going to use, then put the screws into the mounting bracket FIRST. Next, line up the fixture over the screws and then tighten them up. That's it! Just attached the diffuser portion (it twists on) and you're done. It's literally a 10-minute job. All light fixtures should go up this easily. The light looks great - I wish it was a little less deep, but I'm getting used to it and it's one of the better quality fixtures that I've found on Amazon. Don't hesitate to try it out in your space. I installed two of these fixtures last weekend in a rental that I'm remodeling. The items were very well-packaged. The glass cylinder was protected by at least 3" of styrofoam on all sides. The installation process was straight-forward and only took a few minute per light. There's no insulation between the fixture and the wiring box, which means that it's easier to guide the screws into place without crap falling in your eyes (maybe not great if you're installing them on a poorly insulated top-floor ceiling). As for color they're all flat black. The only 'bronze' on the fixture is the screws. Overall these look great. I'm very pleased. I was looking for easy-install/low maintenance fixtures since these were installed in a rental. I also wanted light fixtures that would allow for easy changing of bulbs. I like that these fixtures won't collect dead bugs or get dusty. The lights look contemporary but not too modern...meaning I don't think the fixture will look dated anytime soon. I'm going to buy about a half dozen more to finish the project. Also, I think that the bad reviews for this product are actually targeted at the other lights on this page (weird that they've set up their Amazon page that way). I can't imagine how the glass would fall out of the 3-light fixture that I installed, unless it was installed incorrectly. The screws go all the way through a pre-drilled hole in the glass and it's pretty easy to see if the glass is properly hung. However I did handle the glass with extreme care while I installed it. This light looks fantastic. I don't know what all the drama was about in putting it together. We had no trouble. The light is solid, and really adds a modern flare to the room. I gave it 4 stars because the light casts a weird shadow in the room. Normally this wouldn't bother me (who cares about the shadow!) except that I bought the light for staging my house to sell, and it made it difficult to photograph. The shadow creates a layered wave around the middle of the room. But if you can live wiith that, its a very cool light. Read more

This light is beautiful! Not too hard to install and looks great when put up. I bought the Amazon suggested light bulbs and they are way brighter than I expected which is good (I was scared it wouldn't give off enough light). I was looking to update the light fixtures in my kitchen. Needed something that gave off more light. These were easy to install, a 2 person job.
