I had a blackhead come up on my scalp and it grew into something my doctor lovingly compared to something you’d see on the pimple popper show. I first used ichthammol forty years ago at the advice of my wife's grandmother. I couldnt' believe how well it worked. I asked my doctor why he didn't prescribe this rather than the expensive stuff that doesn't work well. My Shiba got a large splinter in his paw that had pushed all the way in, I put this on his paw, bandaged it up overnight and tried taking it out the next morning. After some manual pushing of the splinter I was able to push just enough out for me to take it out completely with tweezers. Saved a trip to the vet and a costly bill! I used this for my son’s acne which has been resistant to everything I’ve tried so far. He had a patch on his forehead for months that just wouldn’t go away, and I’ve tried everything. It took only 2 applications of about 3 to 4 hours each to bring the acne to a head. His skin eventually cleared in that area. I find the 20% ichthammol works faster and more efficiently than the 10%. Very good. No weird smell but can stain material. I use this for big & stubborn pimples. I put a generous dab on the affected area 1-2 times a day. You can see reduced redness & size within 12 hours. Depends how bad the spots are but generally I see the best results within 4-7 days. Some faster & some take longer. Definitely recommend over ANY pimple patches, those just trap the germs for me, leaving the bacteria under the skin’s surface. Read more
