I tested this with a GPU which had no noticeable performance drop. It was plug and play (with the PC off of course), and just worked without fuss. The PCIE ends are really good quality and offer a snug fit for PCIE slots and cards. You can use it in older generation PCIE slots since it's backwards-compatible with previous generations, you just won't have the same speeds as native gen 5. Though honestly theres currently only a handful of GPUs and NVME adapters that fully benefit from PCIE gen 5 X16. Most current devices don't even saturate a gen 4 x16 slot, but having this as gen 5 helps keep it "future-proof" for quite a few more years than if it was gen 4. The NVME adapter speeds I tested aren't impacted when using this which goes to show how good the shielding is. It's really useful in smaller cases where you want to relocate a gpu, or some mini-PCs to add an external GPU. Read more

Excellent cable, works right out of the box to allow me to relocate my RTX 4080 away from the original slot enabling me to be able to use the other slots for other functions. The cable itself is excellent quality nice and solid exceeding what I was expecting. So far no BSOD errors during my tests. This also fits my ASUS Maximus motherboard with no further adjustments needed. This is quite long, and it bends but still holds its shape, so it's very compatible with different layouts when you need to wrangle it into different slots or case designs, including up and over other installed PCIe cards. The connector ends are very nice, both the end that goes into the motherboard and end that connects to the GPU are made of rugged materials and clip in firmly and stay put great. Using this I saw no difference in GPU performance versus plugged in directly, the foil-shielded wires carry the signal quickly and without interference. A lot of cases have side mounts now, but few actually come with the darn riser cable to actually use them, and while this alone may cost as much or even more than a PC case itself, it's material quality and performance are outstanding and it is definitely a great choice. 5-stars! I tested this with a 5090, and had no issues. I'm not sure what i think about it being unsleeved, meaning all the signal wires exposed, but i dont suppose it causes any issues, and probably helps with felxibility. The cost seems to be inline with other pcie5 risers, so the choice seems to be up to you if you want a riser with exposed signal wires, or one thats sleeved. Read more
