GMKtec Mini PC Intel Core i7-1185G7 Turbo 4 8 GHz 16GB DDR4 512GB SSD M2 Pro S Desktop

I am writing this review after more than a year of daily use. This mini computer is very capable and compact. It is currently mounted to the back of my monitor. In relation to performance, even if not on par with a PC with dedicated graphics, I have been able to run Steam games on this, the most notable being Beam NG, which is very customizable and can definitely run on this hardware. As a side note, noise level can be on the loud side during certain cpu intensive tasks, but it usually lasts a brief moment until the system stabilizes temperature and starts running without any noise again. After several Windows updates, I started noticing an issue with the computer going to hibernation / sleep state. Tried some fixes on my own but the issue was still persistent. I sent an email to GMKtec support, and they answered within a day with a solution (setting power options correctly from the control panel). The system is now working as expected again. I was looking to upgrade and this was just what I needed. An i7 with 32gb ram and 2tb drive for under $500. No bloat wear. Just windows that works. I know this probably doesn’t matter to most, but I’ve had a few mini’s and the headphone/speaker jack is usually on the front. I really don’t like that because I connect mine to desktop speskers. This one is on the back. Is it quiet? Yes. Is it silent, No. You can hear the fan ramp up sometimes but it’s not too loud. Even when the fan spins up I don’t notice much heat. I haven’t had it long, but so far, I’m very happy with my choice. I do not game. I use it for normal office tasks and some coding. Running dual 27” @ 3840x2160. Looks great. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I am quite happy with this PC. I acquired it principally as a work-from-home device, and it has quickly proven itself well-suited for that task. My Zoom/Teams meetings run smoothly even while I navigate weighty xlsx files. It runs two displays comfortably and smoothly, and I see no reason it could not do the same with a third monitor. I am particularly happy that it comes with 2TB of storage, as it means I do not need to either upgrade or rely on an external SSD. Beyond its primary function, this PC is also capable of handling light/moderate gaming. I have played Helldivers II on steamdeck settings without any issues. If you want a versatile pre-built device at a lower price point, then this is certainly a good option. Read more

I don't want to jinx myself by writing this review but the product I received has really impressed me. It was exactly what I was looking for in a mini-pc. The product was boxed very nicely and the build quality looks great. I have only had it for a week but everything seems to be working as expected. I hope it was engineered with longevity in mind because the value of the performance in this sort of form factor is great. For anyone sensitive to noise, the fans do spin up audibly when pushing the processor but that is to be expected in such a small form factor.
