Love this Powerbank

izwanNovember 22, 2018

It is very good, but big and heavy almost 1kg, compare to a normal powerbank but this one is the whole package of goodness. Product is very solid, and feels very high quality USB C - It has 2 USB C, and each of the usb c can be configured to do Auto/Input/Output, so you can set one as input and the second one as auto (this is how i set mine) best part, you can charge this with another powerbank (not all powerbank work). My normal 5v 2.4amp powerbank manage to charge 10w to the input while my usb C PD powerbank manage to charge 39w (PD 45w). USB A - It has 2 usb a and output 5v 2.4amp, so its just like a normal usb power AC - Max 100w 110v modified sine wave, well i have only use it to power some fans and lights for now, but it seems to work well, the AC will consume 3w when you turn on the AC, so 1 10w bulb will register 13w and 2 10w bulb will register 23w, i tested it for 4 hours (while charging with USB C PD) the fan kicks in when the device is hot, it is a bit loud, but the fan seems to only kicks in when using the AC (i never use the USB C over 40watts and the fan never kicks in with only USB C and USB, even while charging) Qi Charger - well it charges at Max 5watt but i don’t have anything to try it with, so i don’t really know Testing When this Powerbank is Charging and at full capacity (100%) and is being use by some other stuff that uses it, i think minimum 10watt++ it will continue charging the powerbank while powering other device that is is connected with it (input via 8mm Barrel Plug/solar, or any 2 of the USB C). If it is charging but there is less watt than 10watts(i forgot maybe less or a bit higher) the charging input (8mm or USB C) will stop charging and will start drawing power from the powerbank, don’t worry because when it starts to drop to 90% the input (8mm or USB C) will start to charging again. The Solar Input works very well, as i use the goal zero extension cable, the Goal Zero 12" MC4 Solar to 8mm Adapter Cable and use a 3rd party solar panel (100watt Panel). It works well as it will charge at maximum 50watt. The USB C PD charger, seems to only charge max at 50-51watt (i’m using a 60watt PD Charger) i don’t know why it cannot be charge higher to 60watt as describe by goal zero, maybe my its my charger. I use this powerbank while connected with macbook 12, ipad, iphone, 2 USB fans and 1 SSD which is all i need for my daily use all in all, it is a very good love it so much with the features. I almost bought other AC Powerbank, luckily this product was release few days while i was searching for the best AC powerbank for me, and this came in the right time Read more

Bought New, Arrived Used

Jason R.February 21, 2021

This is a review of the product, not a review of the fact that the "NEW" product I ordered was already used. Based on when I ordered (Texas without power for 3 days) I understand, but am not happy. Product arrived about when expected. Opened and discovered the seals had all be broken and the device had zero charge. USB A to USB C cable had been retied in a twist tie and had usage marks. Going through the menu (press and hold the UP arrow and click a few times) you can cycle through configuration options and get a report on device firmware and eventually the usage count showing the device has had 4 complete battery cycles already, and already passed through over 100W of input (charging) and output out the AC. Someone cleared the usage counters (useful for if you want to use the device to track efficiency of connected devices) on the individual DC, USB C, USB A, and AC ports in an attempt to hid the fact that it was used. On to the actual product itself. Charging via USB A to USB C with a 2.5A charger reports it will be full in about 8 hours. Gives a charge rate of about 11W with +/- of about 0.1W. Watching it for about the first 10% of the charge shows the 8 hour estimate seems accurate. Charing a phone (Pixel 4) via USB C to C or USB A to C produces expected results (Pixel gives estimate on charge time that looks about right). Even the Qi charging works without removing the case (if your case is thin enough, not metal, etc...) and reported it would charge to full in about 1.5 hours. With the output to Qi reported at 3-5W, that looks like a reasonable expectation as music playback, and screen was in use (Daydream mode on). Using AC produces expected results. The good features for why I bought this device vs some of the other vendors I see producing similar? The 8mm DC IN works with universal laptop chargers as well as the existing Goal Zero solar panels I have. The AC, USB, and Qi ports have individual On/Off switches to prevent unintentional discharge while not in use (e.g. bouncing around your backpack). It provides usage tracking. Specifically battery cycle tracking to ensure you know where you are on the Lithium battery life cycle (every device has a MTBF rating, and batteries have a max designed cycle rating). If the device is kept in a good environment for temp, humidity, etc, I fully expect this device (even if mine arrived slightly used) to last for 3-5 years minimum before I notice any issues. The Swiss Army Knife of power supplies!!!

OldSoldierMay 17, 2020

I have had my Goal Zero Sherpa 100AC for almost a year now. I happen to be an electrical engineer and have owned many similar products in the past. Here my 2 cents! Whomever designed this device hit a home run. I have never seen a device so flexible and it does everything it does very well and can do all of them at the same time. What do I mean... Right not I am doing the following: 1. Charging my Microsoft Surface while using it to write this review using USB-C port 1 with adapter cable 2. Charging my iPhone using the wireless charger on top of the device. 3. Charging my Sherpa using USB-C port 2 The USB-C ports are bi-directional... they can be used to charge and external device and you can use the same port to charge the Sherpa 100. The ports are auto-sensing so if you plug in a device that needs power, the Sherpa 100 will provide that power, but if you plug in a USB-C power supply, the Sherpa will use the power to recharge itself AND provide pass-thru power to the other ports. Of course it also has an inverter to proved 110v AC power and well as regular USB ports for charging phones, cameras, headsets, and other devices. This is the Swiss Army Knife of power supplies! The only poor aspect of the design is the two six-inch cable slots on each side of the device. The could be designed to hold the cables a bit more securely, and I wish there was a third slot to hold the third cable. Great Job! Read more
