I bought a box of 10 to replace the tarnished, ratty brass knobs in my son's condo. I had them shipped to him, but he never got around to installing them, so I did it today while visiting him for Easter. 10 installed in just a few hours. I had to use a box cutter to square the corners of the recess in the doors for the mechanism to fit, since these have squared corners on the retention plate and the previous knobs had rounded corners. I would like to address some of the negative comments I saw in other reviews: Several people said the handles are not reversible. That is incorrect. There is an allen wrench in each package to remove the handles. Each handle has a straight side and a curved side. The straight side goes on the outside of the door while the curved side faces the door. You can easily swap one side for the other. A lot of negative reviews complained that there was only one long screw in the package for holding the two sides of the knob together. They show 4 wood screws and one long bolt in a plastic bag. That long bolt is indeed to hold the two halves of the knob together, but it is a spare. There are two that are located in one side of the pair, not in the plastic bag. You have to pull them out in order to install the two halves together. Someone else mentioned that there was nothing to keep the knob centered in the hole. The latch mechanism keeps it centered because it is installed first, then the knob portion is inserted through that latch mechanism, so it can't really move around much. And there are also centering tabs on each side of the knob interior that match up with a properly drilled hole that pretty much force it into the right position. I cannot speak to the incidences of breaking, since I just installed 10 of these an hour or two ago, but they seem to be very sturdy. When my son first moved in, I helped him replace the cheap exterior knobs and deadbolts with Kwikset Tustin levers. It was a visual and quality upgrade while allowing a change to the locks so he could be assured any "leftover" keys from the previous owners couldn't be used. For the rooms and closets inside, I didn't want to spend $30-35 per knob, so I ordered these, which match up nicely with the Kwiksets. Not an exact match, but pretty close. Read more

This is an update. This door handle does not automatically unlock with rotation of the handle. Unfortunately, because of the lever design, a visitor thought they just need to push down on the lever to open the locked door. Being a lever versus a knob, there is a mechanical advantage of force that ends up breaking the locking mechanism. I am replacing it with a push button style that automatically unlocks from the inside. I still feel it is a good lockset but you need to be careful that guests don't get too forceful with it or realize they need to manually unlock it first. Took off one star. It was very easy to install and operated smoothly. It was a replacement for a set that the return spring was stretching out on a push button style handle. This door set lock requires a twist of the lock versus a push button and could be a little more difficult for those that have arthritic hands, but the design is also more solid. The finish looks good out of the box, but only time will tell if it degrades. The back set length is adjustable for the latch and easy adaptable for many installations. The door hand can be reversed, but it wasn't necessary for me to do that. Read more
I was able to purchase 4-Sets of these Gobrico Gobrico, Satin Nickel, Locking, Bed & Bath Drop Door Handles for $53.. (that’s $13.30 each) which is amazing in itself, because you certainly won’t find a deal like this at any local lumber yard or box store... Ordered on Friday, Received them on Sunday, and installed ALL FOUR in under ONE-Hour… OUTSTANDING!!! And as for the quality, it is far Better than I could have ever expected.. They have Solid Handles, not some w stamped-out piece of junk.. And the installed door handles feels Very Solid, not cheap... You will not regret buying these Door Handles from Gobrico.. They also come with top quality hardware as well… These handles are universal for both Right or Left hand doors.. you simply use the included Allen wrench to loosen the handles and swap the inside with the outside handle, and you’re done.. (You can also choose if you want the Handles ends turning up or down, it’s a Personal Preference thing..) “Easy-Peasy…” I did read a review where a lady wasn’t happy with how easy it was to unlock the door from the outside, fearing her privacy was at risk.. First off, these are made easy to unlock, incase of an emergency, so you can use a flat-blade screwdriver, a dime, or other flat object that fits into the slot… BUT, if you are like the lady, and “WANT COMPLETE UNINTERRUPTED PRIVACY”, you can find “Self-Adhesive Screw Hole Stickers on amazon for $5-$10 in various sizes, to strict over the outside slot, somewhat camouflaging it, which will give you both a little added security by concealing the slot, while still giving someone access, “IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY”, by simply removing the sticker, or pushing a screwdriver/dime through the sticker… Both my Bride of 53-years and I are Extremely Pleased with our New Gobrico Door Handles… Thanks to both Gobrico and amazon for offering these High-Quality items…. Very poor quality. When I initially purchased they looked great and felt like they were gonna be good but I’ve had 4 out of the 10 door handles stop functioning and make it difficult to open the doors. Not worth it. Would not recommended buying these. Read more
