Charming Cat Detail, But Quality Feels A Bit Off
I picked this silver cat paper towel holder because the sculpted cat on top instantly caught my eye and actually looks even nicer in person than in the pictures. The metallic finish has a pleasant shine and the figurine has clear detailing on the fur and face, which makes it a fun focal point on my kitchen table. The vertical design keeps the roll neatly in place and it fits a standard paper towel roll without any trouble. In daily use the design is mostly practical, but the pole feels slightly too tall so the roll sits a bit lower than I prefer and it can feel awkward when I grab sheets in a hurry. The metal base looks clean on the wood tabletop in my photo and it has a low profile, but it does not have any felt or padding underneath, so I am careful when sliding it around because it could scratch the surface. The top cat screws on and off easily which makes swapping rolls straightforward and it holds securely once tightened. From a quality perspective the overall build is decent, yet it does not quite match the price point in my opinion. The finish on the pole and base does not feel as refined as the cat itself and I expected slightly heavier and sturdier materials for what this costs. It is still a cute piece that makes a simple paper towel roll feel a little more special and it definitely earns a few smiles from guests, but I see it more as a decorative accent that happens to hold paper towels rather than a premium kitchen tool.
