We didn't need an alarm clock but bought this to see the time when awakened during the night. Unfortunately, the buttons on the top of the unit make it impossible to pick it up without hitting an alarm button. The "instruction booklet" was not helpful at all. It tells you how to set an alarm but does not tell you how to stop it. My husband was an engineer and it still took us quite sometime to set the time. However, that night discovered an alarm had inadvertently been set for 2:52 a.m. (20 small beeps). In addition, two small beeps go off every 52 minutes on the hour. We never put the batteries in anyway but we unplugged it hoping the alarm memory would be erased. Now with no batteries or plug in it, it still goes off at 52 min. past the hour.??? Nice adjustable display but annoying every hour. We may have to bury it. UPDATE: I guess we were not able to figure out the alarm setup as indicated above. However, I did want to say that the seller was VERY prompt and helpful, first offering us a video setting alarms. Since setting an alarm was not the problem, they then offered to refund or replace the item. We opted to refund because we wanted a clock but not alarms. Read more
