I try to stay away from the really cheap items on Amazon and go with name brands. Stayed with GoPro on this. It's a nice foldable extension for the GoPro, with a simple tripod that store in the handle. Not heavy duty but in searching alternatives, none of then seem really sturdy and in general it gets good reviews from heavy GoPro users. My use will be for vacation travel so it should work well for me. Easy to pack and fits my camera perfectly. Read more

We bought a GoPro for a trip through Iceland and purchased this for it, mostly to take selfies. We needed something that was good quality and could withstand some abuse because we knew we'd be taking it to and submerging it in the Blue Lagoon, a geothermally-heated natural pool with a very high silica content. We floated and soaked and took gratuitous photos and video of ourselves all day using this and it came out no worse for wear, once we wiped off the white silica residue after it had dried out. The angle points let you configure this so you can hold it and film yourself without your arm being overtly outstretched in the shot, as is typical in most selfies. This was a big plus for us as it made our video look more natural. The knobs also tighten down very well, we used this to shoot a whale watching trip on a speedboat racing across heavy swells and the arms never collapsed. The little tripod on the bottom was hard to separate from it's screw-in holster without feeling like we were about to break it when we tried to pull it off, and be aware that if you adjust the arms or leave any flex in the collapsed grip while you're recording with your GoPro (especially if it's in the completely-enclosed water proof case), you will hear the joints creaking in the video playback. This isn't a fault in the product, that's just the nature of vibration. If you're going to use this and need the cleanest possible audio, either tighten the knobs down REALLY TIGHTLY or buy something more professionally-focused. Read more

I was not prety sure about to placing the order for this product due to all the negative comments about. Now, I have used it for one month, and I do not regret or have any complain about the 3 way grip. It is a good product, I dont think it looks cheap or fragile. it is very useful for the ways you can use. and... the tripod is not very stable? yes, it is correct... BUT this is an action camera, not a camera for studio pics... it is supposed to be on your bike, your head, your surf board, etc. I think the tripod is a plus (very useful BTW) if you place it on a flat surface, works great! I definetely recommend this product, its nice, looks elegant and works perfect for the self pictures! IMPORTANT: if you are waiting to receive a LONG arm, you should analyze better. I waited to purchase this thinking it was too expensive especially seeing all the "knock off brands" of mounting sticks out there. In fact I ordered one of these off brands and that's when I ordered this one. I LOVE this 3 Way Grip, Arm, Tripod! It's so versatile, folds nicely, not bulky and so easy to use. Took it on a long and grueling hike and carried it the entire way as I was constantly stopping to take photos. It's so nice how easily it folds after using the camera and how quick and easy it extends for use again. I highly recommend this and happy I purchased the official GoPro product, just sorry I waited. Pretty cheaply made, but it is worth it because it works well. The material is made of plastic. It is pretty sturdy, however it can become stiff and feel like it is going to break. Pros: 1.) You do not see your arm in your pictures 2.) The grip Cons: 1.) Flimsy 2.) A bit bulky 3.) It is short and not as long Overall, I really love this case. I bought this Gopro Arm to go on vacation, I knew we were going to be walking everywhere as everyone does in Europe, this Arm did not let me down, it's light and very sturdy, I never used as a tripod so I can answer how good or bad it might be but i can assure you as a selfie stick or walking around stick is pretty awesome. I used this arm with the Gopro remote control and the combination of both was incredibly easy to use. I took video shots that I would have never taken with my regular camera thanks to the extended reach of this stick. Read more
