This vest is beautiful and feels much higher quality than I expected for the price. It has that classic, “old money” style that looks very chic and sophisticated. The bold, wide black and white stripes are striking and so much nicer than thinner stripes you usually see. I also really love the gold buttons- they add the perfect touch of contrast and make it look more expensive. One detail I especially appreciate is that the bottom portion isn’t buttoned, so it spreads open slightly. It makes the fit much more flattering and gives it a polished but relaxed look. It's always those little details we don't even think about that take a piece of clothing from basic or unflattering to chic and special. It’s also very versatile. It looks great worn casually with denim and flats, but also pairs nicely with black wide leg pants, cigarette pants, or even white or khaki for a lighter look. For sizing context, I am 5'8" with the following measurements: Bust: 33" Waist: 29" Hip: 39" I ordered a medium based on the item's size chart, and that was right for me despite usually being a Small in most brands. In accordance with a trend, you need to pair this with high-waisted bottoms for modesty unless you don't mind some exposed midriff. In my case, I'd be wearing this in a professional setting so I'll wear high-waisted bottoms. These style well with khaki/beige bottoms and looks very classy. The buttons are not flat, they're kind of a contour which wasn't obvious to me when I ordered. That's fine by me, but you may wish to know.
