"THIS IS, IS, IS THE ONE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR!!!! I SPENT HOURS & $$$ LOST TO GET TO HERE!!!
After 3 tries with other products, I finally found one that is worth the money and has the right crushing ability. The hole size and the cradle that holds the cloves is just about right for a successful outcome. (In my personal opinion of course!) I didn't find the handles to be a problem and there is more than enough squeezing pressure without breaking the handles. (As another "muscle-bound" reviewer had mentioned otherwise) I really liked the Garlic Shell tube roller. Worked like a charm. I didn't require the use of the cleaning brush as the press washed off easily under the faucet. The Pewter Garlic Press I had for 15 years did not have the pins, but this press works just as good and I am completely satisfied. I should mention that hole sizes are particularly important for the mincing size and if they are too big, you might as well mince them with your knife. Also, if you are making a garlic butter mix or just want a stronger taste, wait at least 10 minutes for the Allicin to develop. (And, more allicin, is much healthier) The size and ease of use is just right for me and I would recommend giving it a try. The unit is solidly made and should satisfy most cooks. If you are unsure about picking a product, try this one first and possibly save yourself some grief! UPDATE! October 27, 2025 This garlic press is still working great! I use it every day to crush garlic to put in my daily Avocado dip. The handles seem to be very sturdy and just for some simple advice; I squeeze the handles with the center of my palm over the joint on the handles where the color meets the metal. (And, if you have the hand strength, even more forward on the handles over the metal.) I haven't broken my handles yet and don't intend to, IF there IS any weakness or problem, the farther out on the end of the handles you go, the more force will be put on the press AND the joint where the color meets the metal. I find that the Garlic cloves crush pretty easily so you don't need to go way out on the handle ends. So do yourself a favor and consider this advice and you should be trouble-free for years. I will continue to update this review over time to let you know how it all went. Also, for the price and function, this is one of the best items I have purchased. Read more
